Favours have been given for centuries to thank your guests for attending your special day and it's the finishing touches that help bring everything together. To help us improve our ranges and keep up to date with what YOU the brides are looking for when choosing favours, please answer the following questions and leave your comments.
1. How much would you spend on favours? 2. What kind of favours will you give? 3. How important is it to you to give favours at your wedding?
Some tips to help you choose your favours:
Traditionally favours are given 1 per family, usually to the lady of the household (this also helps to keep the costs down)
If you want to give favours to each of your guests, there is alot of choice out there, you can give his and hers favours.
For the ladies you can give something floral like a flower stem with confectionary or a pretty pouch or box.
For the men you can give practical bottle stoppers and keyrings or a simple box filled with confectionary.
The choice is yours to spend as little or as much as you want.
We would love to know what you girls think of giving favours and would really appreciate your feedback.
Thanks Maria x

we have spent around £60 on our favours, for about 150 people as we are giving them to the evening guests too, we have chosen organza pouches, ivory for the men and burgundy for the ladies, the men have burgundy and ivory dragees, and the ladies have hand made soaps in the shape of a heart in burgundy and ivory, we have also bought wooden roses in ivory and burgundy and have wound the contrasting colour ribbon around the stem as we shortened the stems and they fraid a little, but they look lovely in the contrasting colours, we are giving burgundy roses to the men and ivory to the women, they all look lovely together :) x

We're on a tight budget so I was thinking of making my sweety table the favours. I had thought of copying an idea I saw where the favour was a glass with the bride n groom's names and the date on, but I don't think my money will stretch that far. I am looking at around £3 or £4 pp. The favours aren't very important to me - the thank you letter I send afterwards is more important in my opinion.

We spent £99p each on favours, then a little more on organza bags, and card. We've got cancer research favours - trolley tokens. Probably wouldnt have bothered getting the norm "sugar almond" type of favours
Now Mrs Cobb!!!!!! :-D

I'm giving the ladies a 'Wedding Day' Yankee Candle (90p each from B&Q) in a black favour box with a white ribbon. For the men I haven't seen anything yet but want something different.
children will have a gift bag which varies depending on their age.

We have spent about £160 on favours so far...........I wanted something my day guests could keep so the men have mini hip flask keyrings and the women have silver heart compact mirrors! The children have little goodie bags of things to do while the photos, speeches etc are on so they dont get bored. Then on my napkins and in the back of my chairs i am having wooden roses so if they want they can keep these too! I didnt want my reception guests to feel left out so we have a little something for them too, cake pops!

Roughly I think we have spent about £100 on favours. £80 on the adult favours of handmade cards with tea quotations on the front and a specialty tea bag inside, and little buckets filled with sweets and tied with ribbon and a tag for the kids. I did struggle before finding the adult ones, with what to get the men, but no wonder if traditionally it was just the ladies that got one, lol. xx
Finally reunited with the love of my life

This Saturday I will finally be Mrs Codling!

I have gone totally overboard on favours. All guests are getting a 6"x6" box full of homemade sweeties, then the girls are getting a prada perfume sample and a wee shot glass with some tequila rose in it, and the guys are getting a Juicy Couture aftershave sample and a shot glass with a mini jack daniels in it.
oopsie. Guess favours are important to me!

I'll be doing favors but I want something unique (and cheap as our budget is small!) I'm thinking of doing individual peat pots of herbs and wildflowers as table centres and labelling these with the guests names as favours so that they can take them home and plant them as a permanent reminder of our day (our invites are also going to be done on seeded paper that can be planted to grow a bed of wildflowers lol)

We always knew we was gonna do the cancer research favours, as my mum is battling cancer at the moment. We put a little note with each cancer research pin listing each family member we had lost to cancer. All the guest were really touched by it and it went down a treat. Some actually got quite emotional. So it cost me £1 per person, but it went to a good cause.
I am now Mrs Stacey Stiles and loving it!

we're spending about £100 on favours, everyone's getting a cracker with some bubbles, chocolates and some seeds (a variety as I grow a few things in my garden so whatever I have at the time) they're doubling up as place settings. There's a few kids coming too so they'll be having a box or bag with colouring/puzzle books etc x

We have just got organza bags filled with sweets, tables with toys and games and the children have personalised bags of goodies!!! TBH I think it's the thought that counts, and it makes the tables look pretty!!

Thanks for your replies ladies, really interesting mix of ideas, it is the thought that counts and if you give something that has a personal meaning for you both and reflects who you are too, it's a really nice touch.

We will be spending £2pp on Cancer Research pin badges as wedding favours for all adult daytime guests and approx £5 each on a gift bag for the children (we are only inviting 7 children). We are also putting a kind of 'gift bag' in the rooms of people staying over in the hotel on the night of the wedding. xx

we're buying a cancer research pin favour for every adult guest (35 guests) which will cost approximately £60 and we've also got organza pouches that we're going to fill with dragees. I think it will come to about £75 in total for 40 guests.
CommentAuthorClaireH15
I am just wondering what to do for these at the momeny so it is really interesting looking through the ideas. Does anyone have any links for the charity favours or are you not allowed to post them on here? We have around 80-100 guests, not finalised yet but the budget is tight for favours - certainly only £100 max so I may struggle to get something for that, although we are going to make the little pouches ourselves xx
CommentAuthorroberta90
Some good ideas on here ladies, i was thinking of swirly lollies in pink and white with personalised stickers on the front of the packaging xx

We spent approximately £50 on favours for 18 people, but thats for 2 favours each. We are having birdcage shaped boxes filled with chocolate eggs, and mint imperials wrapped in tulle and ribbons. I couldnt choose between them so decided to have both.
I can resist anything but temptation

Well me&H2B are on a budget so we made our own favours. We got sweeties from thorntons that are from valentines day (expiry date isnt till november) so they have wee hearts on them :-)
We made the boxes from card I bought, old sheet paper, pva glue and ribbon. They look great and all in it cost me about £7 for everything.
Weve also made the place settings from black and white wooden roses, a wooden heart tag, red gingham ribbon and sticky letters from a craft shop. All in this cost us £30. I am hoping the guests will keep these as a momento also :-)
I like making my own stuff and although it wouldve been nice to buy something a bit posher, I am really happy with my results :-)

At our wedding we gave each person a favour in the daytime. They consisted of a bottle box that had a bride and groom on the front and opened like a book - it had wedding vows on the inside cover "from this day forward...etc etc" and we put a packet of lovehearts in each box and 2 rock sweets inside which had a loveheart inside it.
The boxes cost 10p each from a card stall on our local market - £5.00 The love hearts were £1 a bag from a gadget shop at Xmas time - £4.00 And the love heart sweets cost 69p a bag at valetines £2.07.
TOTAL COST £11.07p for 50 favours!
I really did marry my Mr Wright and we had a nice day for a

I'm not sure I'm having any... as I can't think of any. I did see choc in an initial which I thought would be nice but they were expensive - then I thought of buying my own moulds and doing them... then I thought 'meh'..

Getting married the sat after Easter Monday, so trying to keep it cheap as everything else is spiralling out budget wise. So we are having organza bags, ivory, filled with mini eggs. 80 organza bags less then a tender, and you can buy 3kg tubs of mini eggs online for about £20. So all in all less than £30 hopefully.
I've never really thought much of favour when I've been to a wedding, which was why I'd didn't want to spend lots of money

Making scrabble place settings but I'm putting magnets on the back of them, and providing little pouches to put them in to take them home :) cost about 100 quid so far x

I haven't looked into detail at the favours, but I plan on buying little organza bags and adding chocolate hearts in them. There is no way I would like to spend more than £1.50 per guest. I also have lots of children at our wedding so I want to keep it as general as I can.
