I just wondered what everyone was doing for their wedding favours, i remembered going to weddings as a kid and thought it was only women that got wedding favours( the little net bags with sugard almonds in) but now is it the norm that everyone gets one? Men and Women?
So... i was curious what you are doing at your wedding, Women/Both and what ideas have you had for favours?
Also what to buy bridesmaids and groomsmen as thank you presents.. all comments welcome.. well sensible ones anyway..
Thanks and happy wedding planning to everyone out there

Hey Amy,
As we're having a Mad Hatter's theme & my mum makes her own alcohol, everyone is going to get a small bottle of something, with a 'drink me' tag around it. Possibly a cupcake or cookie too with an 'eat me' tag :)
For my BMs, I'm thinking of a nice but not-so-expensive bracelet or a little something they can keep.
Have you tried looking on Pinterest or Etsy? That's where I've gotten a lot of my ideas from xx

we gave guests rose scented and shaped candles wrapped in tulle and for the BM we gave them tiffany necklace and bracelet sets, but the groomsmen didnt get anywhere near as much as they didnt want a gift at all so we got one of the best men a persaonlised whisky tumbler and the other we got some personalised golf tees. The parents we got them a crystal bowl each for their coffee tables. Hope that helps.

Were giving a lego minifigure to everyone. Each table will get different minifigures so they'll double up as the equivalent of table numbers, and we'll write each person's name on the brick their minifigure is standing on so they'll also double up as place cards.
Probably giving my bridesmaids a necklace (necklace in the morning for them to wear on the day, box it came in later during the speaches). Not sure about the men in the bridal party, or the mothers yet though. Traditionally I think the mothers get bouquets of flowers, but his Mum has bad heyfever, and I don't like the way they'll die off in a week or so when the other important people get something they can keep.

Its just a shame they don't say on the bags which mini figure it is! We've spent ages in the past felling bags to get the ones we want! We've gone with the easier options for the favours and are getting from the build your own mini figure stand in the Lego shop. So far we have a pirates tables, pirate girls, magicians, and chefs. Only 6-ish more tables to go!

I may not be having a formal table setting, so will have a wicker basket with an assortment of favours for people to pick from. Making my own plantable paper shapes, lollipops with homegrown edible petals inside, and chocolate marshmallows on sticks. Possibly a few others if I get going haha!

I am making gingerbread Christmas tree decorations with my two young daughters (4 and 5) to give as favours. Bridesmaids/flower girls will get a pearl necklace to wear on the day (i like the idea above to give the box out during the speeches - might pinch that idea!). Not sure about groomsmen - maybe cufflinks or alcohol!!

Love gingerbread sarah...I saw a thing in a wedding magazine where everyone got a gingerbread man, then they set up a table shabby chic style where they had put things out for the guests to decorate them themselves, really clever!

Sounds a good idea!! We are making them out of felt. We are thinking of having names iced on gingerbread men biscuits as place settings too - maybe we could provide icing tubes/sweets so they could be decorated (although have a feeling after a few drinks these may get a bit rude!)

All good ideas, i have thought about making chocolate lollies for everyone with names piped on to double up as place cards but sounds like a lot of work now...

We're not having favours per person but having packets love heart sweets around the table (so enough for each person just not technically mine/yours if you know what I mean) I do feel that the personal touch does make a difference, but its sad when people forget to take them home with them.
