Hi everyone. I'm pretty new to this as only recently engaged and so far finding it all a bit overwhelming.
Anyway my specific issue is that a few of the venues I like are having fairs over coming weeks, is it ok to take the groom to a fair?
My friends think it should be just brides but since we get limited time off together we thought it may help if we went together.
Is there a wedding fair etiquette? All very confusing.
Thanks on advance if any one can offer advice

Loads of people take the groom! My H2B only came to a couple, and sat looking bored at those lol - but do what you like - if he's willing to go then go together - he definitely won't be the only groom there :) xxxxx

i took my groom but however a word of warning in true guy fashion he was bored pretty much as soon as we got there and there was so many people and he hated not being able to move around and spending ages talking to people. he couldn't wait to leave.

so if u want it to be fun leave him at home! if he gets bored easy and can only deal with wedding talk for half hour at a time, take ur mum or friends. if he really keen and dont mind busy places and standing around talking and cooing and doesnt get bored easy then take him.

i only get 2 days a week with my oh as he works away but dont think ill be taking him again ill leave him at home i think lol xx

My h2b has been to two wedding fairs now on his own!! Lol! They were local ones so he wanted to go and collect infomation for me as i have had to be at work. He went to one of them today and apparently picked me a shiny sixpence for my shoe!
I dont think there are any rules :-) xx

My hubby came with me to one, but I went to another 2 without him. He was a bit bored and hated the jazz band that were playing as he hates jazz, but he loved the free cake samples LOL! There were definitely other grooms there too x

h2b came to the fairs that were at the places we were interested in as potential venues, we could see them (partially) set out for a wedding and could scout it out without feeling under the pressure of an appointment! However, he was pretty bored by the stalls side of things, and I went to the big ones with a friend, he would have been bored silly. If your h2b wants to go then definitely go with him, two heads are better than one and all that!

Ive been to wedding fairs with my mum, if i took h2b he'd be bored, get stroppy because he wants to go hom and then i end up having a crappy time. If you h2b would be anything like mine dont even ask him to go!!

My h2b went to our first one. It was a week after getting engaged and I just wanted to see the venue really so we were in and out as I didn't want to talk to suppliers yet.
He then rang his friend who was also being made to go by his w2b and said 'Don't worry about going to that wedding thing. It's ok, it's easy'. Easy!? What did he think he was going to have to do!?

I took my MIL to the others. She loved them! I've seen plenty of grooms at them though. Especially if you're after grooms wear supplier or cake supplier etc. Useful to have his opinion. x

Hey! My h2b has been to every wedding fayre with me. He actually enjoys it as he gets to taste the cake due to me being on a diet lol it gives him the chance to be more involved in the planning as it is his day too and I didn't want to do everything without him and his opinion.
You could always take your h2b with you to the first one and then you'll know whether it's something he wants to do with you or whether he doesn't want to go to another one :) xx

haha they should be a stroppy groom corner at these places with a bar & ps3 and xbox so they can all sit there and have a yap and let us get on with what we need to do and then just fill em in at the end haha think he will be more than happy to go then! just like a kids corner but for the big kids in our lifes ;) x

I've been to quite a few fairs with him, he gets bored very quickly after maybe 30 mins, but would go have a drink at the bar there in those cases, and he actually liked going to discuss about the car, and other manly things, but not about cake or flowers

I've taken h2b to a couple and he coped okay on the boredom front, but I have a very short attention span so wouldn't last for ages anyway. He likes the free drinks/nibbles you get and at the last one he had free ice-cream, so he was more than happy. He's said he won't come to the larger ones again as the sales people are too pushy, however he's more than happy to go to the smaller ones as he likes to be involved.

I think if they are fairs at possible venues and you still need to find your venue that its a great idea to take h2b along. saves time on booking appointments to view venues and you see them all done up like a real wedding. My H2B has been to a lot with me but he's great at the girly wedding stuff, he even enjoys shopping!!!!!

If its a big national wedding show then these are better just you, your mum and your bridesmaids. nice girly day out!!!
