I didn't think I would enjoy a wedding fair as much as I did but I went yesterday with my Mum,Sister and Neice and what a great time we had.. Even better I won first prize in the raffle which is a photography session plus free photo, ideal as our engagement picture. With so much to see though how do you keep to budget ??

well done for winning the raffle, good prize too. i think you just go and have a look to get ideas of things you like/might want, then go see if you can find them cheaper somewhere else. just compare the prices of everything and if you over on a certain thing then maybe cut back on something else to keep to your budget.

I went to a fair yesterday too, and me and my best mate just wanted to get ideas really, there is no way i would be drawn in to paying over £300 for wedding cakes or buy a wedding ring for £800. But got some nice ideas for my wedding cake and vintage flower displays. Just a fun day out for us brides too! :)

Great that you won, you just have to be realistic and always remember your budget, there are lots of ideas etc at fairs but comes with expense.

I went to the one at the NEC, saw a lot of great things, got a few freebies, it was all fun! But I would never be drawn into buying anything there! There were girls fighting over dresses, just because someone said they were cheapened and end of the line dresses. If you make a mistake, and it's not what you want, there's no going back there!

I love going to wedding fairs but feel there sooo pushy at these places, as soon as u walk towards the stalls i feel im practically leaped apon!! thats all that puts me off otherwise there brilliant, i was at one sunday with some of my entourage! and they had a fashion show which was absolutly great (get so many ideas), my mum was happy as she is short and slightly dumpy and as she says they always have really slim MOB modelling clothes but on sunday they actually had someone who was a whole lot more womanly which was great to see. :-)
