I have started planning my wedding, but have not been to any wedding fairs yet.
Please could you let me know if I should go, could it help in planning my wedding better.
Did you guys get anything out of it. Any free goodies ;)

The only fair we have been to is the National Wedding Show which wasn't too useful for us as the suppliers weren't local to us anyway. We mainly wanted to go just for the experience and to maybe get some ideas but we were both disappointed with it. I won tickets but wouldn't have paid for them. We did book a magician who was there so that's the only thing we got out of it really! We did get a goodie bag but the most exciting thing in there was a bar of G@l@xy ;)
We've not been to any local wedding fairs but we might do.. the only thing we have left to do now is find a cake supplier. If you've still got quite a few suppliers to sort out then it might be worth popping along to a few.
I personally preferred searching for suppliers online and communicating with them via email or phone, but that's just a personal preference x

I like wedding fairs and have been to 3 this year and also attending the Scottish Bridal show on Sunday, they are great for ideas and also good to see what things cost, on the day most exhibiters give a discount on their service if booked at the fair or give a flyer to take away with a discount too and depending on the size of the fair you might get a goody bag I got a M@c eye liner a few weeks ago which I never expected!
Personally love going to the wedding fairs, but you will find the more local ones you attend you tend to find the same suppliers but that's good if you want to revisit some of them and take advantage of a discount.
Also good getting to try out the photobooths and cake samples too lol

Yes I'd def recommend the fayre but go to local ones so that the suppliers are local. Without them I wouldn't have had a clue where to start looking for things like band, cake etc. u don't really get goodie bags but a lot of suppliers will do deals if u book on the day like 10% off

Local ones are more useful if you know what you want and need local suppliers. Bigger ones better for overall ideas and inspiration :)
I went the the national one in London twice, the brides the show (which was appalling) and a local one.
I loved the national show it gave me lots of inspiration even if we didn't book anything. I've got lots of goody bags most of the stuff is now sitting in a cupboard gathering dust.
The local show was recommended to me by my make up and hair artist so I could meet her as she had a stall there. We also ended up finding our wedding rings and our florist there too.
It's s fun day out ( we found our rolls Royce at brides but it was otherwise a disappointment. Most of the suppliers were ignoring us and I found it too snobby, they only seemed to cater for vintage style weddings and everything was ridiculously expensive)

I would recommend going to local ones, even though I now have most things arranged I still go as you can pick up some great ideas and also have collected a lot of wedding magazines for free

I'm off to a local one on Saturday and I'm really excited. But I'm the sort of person that also really enjoys window shopping and I just like to look at stuff. I'll let you know on Sunday if it was useful or not. Hehe x
