Hi All, A friend of mine is getting married this year and she mentioned that when she was wedding dress shopping some shops only stocked smaller sizes and made her feel that she was overweight (she is only a size 14) when she was trying them on, and also one other shop she went to was really rude and made her feel awful! I'm about to start wedding dress shopping myself and want to avoid all of these places like the plague, therefore has anyone got any horror stories about wedding dress shops to avoid, and also any places you've been to that were great! I'm based in Kent, but am also near to Essex and London so anywhere in those areas would be fab. Thank you..

Hi hun, had the same problem with my BM's, 2 of them are plus size and couldnt fit in any dresses. There is a shop in romford in essex though that stock a good amount of bigger dresses. I will post their website to your wall hun x

well I find that shocking since as my wedding dress shop wanted to order me a size 14 gown and didnt think anything of it! I totally think it depends on where you go! The only problem I have had with my wedding dress shop is the communication. They deal with so many dresses that they become desensitised and forget that they are dealing with the most important outfit in many womens lives and they think that they can just do things in their own sweet time! anyway rant over!

advice?... confidence! i walked into a really posh one that you had to buzz to get in to and make an appointment just to try a dress on! they watched me like a hawk as i looked at stuff but i didnt let it get to me. i ignore them, spoke quite loudly to my mom, saying things like...oooo this ones nice, bit cheap though.... haha. then when eventually they asked if i wanted an appointment i said no, thers nothing i like... then walked out. you have as much right as ne1 to be in that shop somdont let them make u feel otherwise. x
