Yes it was a relief, we are now doubly covered because we paid by credit card so we are covered by that as well. It was actually the shop who got me the insurance so I am grateful to them for that.

Just spoken to a lady in a shop in Manchester and she has said she will contact the makers for me and ask if the purchase of the dress can be transfered to her, so fingers crossed they will agree to this and all I will have to do is pay her the remaining balance. I hope it is that simple.

Aww great hope it works out for you! Don't think I will be as lucky as I stupidly didn't get insurance and paid cash and they hadnt actually ordered my dress yet but I'm just lucky that I'm in a position that I can still afford the same dress just means its costing me 50% more than I expected which is far from ideal!!

You still don't want to have to pay out twice though. I received my letter this morning and it says exactly the same as it says on their website. i had a call from the lady in the Manchester shop who has agreed to help me yesterday. She had spoken to Essense and they knew nothing about the shop closing down until another shop called asking for help with another bride.

Just seen this might help you Holly, My name is Karl Jennings,

We found out about the demise of the Bridal Gallery Group via Pronovias yesterday morning. Many of you will be panicking and wondering what will happen to your bridal orders. We would really like to help.

I have personally spoken to 16 very concerned Pronovias Brides today who do not know the status of their bridal orders. The agent for Pronovias has asked that we forward their details over to her directly and in turn she will contact them with the status of their order within a few days.

If there are any other brides who have ordered their Pronovias or Jenny Packham gowns through the Bridal Gallery Group and require assistance, please feel free to contact us via email put link on my wall

While we cannot cover your financial loss we can at least make sure the dress of your dreams arrives on time.

I've just had my letter too Jenny it's full of lies, just spoke to the Pronovias rep thanks to the help of Eternity bridal who were fantastic and I just wish I had ordered with originally! Pronovias have been trying to contact the bridal gallery themselves and can't get a response so all this about being in talks with suppliers is rubbish!!
Pronovias also confirmed that my dress had never been ordered so it means I have lost the money but at least I can go ahead and re order it now, Eternity have also said that I can wait until Feb to be measured for the dress so more time to lose weight so there is some good news ha!

Well at least you can start again and you get more time to lose weight, the lady I spoke to said that she should be able to give me an answer as to whether the purchase of my dress can be transferred to her shop by the end of next week but that the people from Essense need to speak to the owners of the Bridal Gallery first before they can agree to anything and as yet they have had no contact with them. I just don't understand why they would send a letter out saying they are in contact with all the suppliers when they clearly aren't, my dress maker found out through another dress shop so I can't imagine that they are too happy with finding out that way!

    Hi All

I've only just heard about this and as everyone else has probably already done spent the night in tears! I bought my pronovias gown from the Preston Shop! I haven't received a letter or any other info other than finding out the hard way of stumbling across this forum last night! Has anyone had any luck in getting their gown back from Preston? Or if anyone has a contact number that gets through to someone?

Any help would be really appreciated!

    X

I have received a letter from them and from their administrators. THere is an email address on their website but I emailed them 2 days ago and have had no response. I think the best thing to do is find your next closest store who stock pronovias and give them a call, they will probably know about it already and may have other brides that they are helping. I ordered my dress in Chester and phoned a store in Manchester for help and they knew all about the shop closing and have been a much greater help than anyone at the Bridal Gallery.
Let me know how you get on.

Thanks JennyY. I've heard from then this morning and hopefully my dress is getting delivered next Wednesday! Not holding my hopes to high though. I've also received a call from the company who are dealing with the liquidation! They were really helpful. If anyone is struggling getting hold of them, drop me a message and I'll forward you the details I have!

Oh I am so glad your dress is ok, from what I have read on another forum they are delivering dresses that they say they have safe so you should be ok.

I haven't tried to speak to the liquidation people yet. I have just found a direct number for Essence so gave them a call, the girl said that she was aware of the problem and that my dress has been ordered. They are contacting people directly in the next few days and informing us of what is going to happen. It would appear from what other designers are saying that the Bridal Gallery may not have been passing on all the deposits to the designers so I will just have to wait to find out if I am going to have to pay the deposit again or not. I am hoping that I don't, i know I can claim the original deposit back but its just a pain!
