I have my wedding dress fitting tomorrow and nervous isnt the word !!
Some of you know i brought a dress then changed my mind so I went and brought a new dress in a sample sale in a bridal shop. Its a lovely dress but it was a little bit and was a zip back when i had my heart set on a corset back so they said they would change it to a corset back and do the hem and a dry clean for an extra £100 (after a little haggling lol!!).
Well that was it i paid the money and I havnt seen my dress since! This was about 2 months ago!!! So i rang them last week and explained to them i get married in 7 weeks time and havnt heard anything back about my dress!! she said that i should have heard something back by now so to give the seamstress a call as she works from a diffrent premesis. So i called and she didnt seem to understand anything I was saying! I explained to her what i had told the woman in the shop about how soon the wedding was and what work was suppose to be done and her reply was "so are you wanting to come for a fitting??" so i said well do i need to come for a fitting and she just said ok ive booked you in for the 7th at 3pm then she said "so have we got your dress or have you got it" ???????????? whats that all about?? clearly she has my dress shes suppose to be doing alterations on it!!!
Now im just really nervous about going to try it on what about if she hasnt even started the work yet or what about if shes messed up my dress!! I was clear that i wanted a nice big thich corset back to make a real feature of it!! Not a little 1 with the really thin ties on it (which is what i keep imagining it to be!!!) aghhhh stress!!

Ohhh i can imagin your stress, if i was you after youv seen it and im sure everything will be fine... (complaine) weddings are stressfull enough now ur calling 2 ppl and were ur dress is ment to be is asking if u have it... talk about making you panic for goodness sake xx

thanks hun I will! I really cant fault the actual shop they have offered me all sorts of extras went the extra mile to help me find sample dresses that i could buy off the rail in a larger size (im a bigger girl) and offered all the dry cleanin g etc for nothing!! its just this stupid woman doing the alterations!! I will try and get some pics for you to have a gander over lol!! x

Yea and just to top it all off the bra i ordered isnt the right one as they have sent the wrong colour AND size!! my veil still hasnt been delivered for my hair trial ALSO tomorrow and ive twisted my ankle on the treadmill today and its poofed up so i can get my bridal shoes on!! arghhhhhhhh lol
I hope everthing works out ok for you and its just a misunderstanding on the seamstresses part, looking forward to seeing our pics.

Id be in panic stations too, I think every bride would be. Just try to keep a level head and fingers crossed shes an amazing seamstress who just doesnt speak very good english! Looking forward to the pics :)

It went awful!! The seamstress was really rude! The dress hasnt even started!! When i saw the dress i said why hasnt it been changed and she said oh why what was suppose to be done she then refers to the notes WITH the dress and says oh the lace up back do you still want that? UMMM YES!!!!!!!!!!!!! she then said they never would have started it without getting me in for a fitting!?! yet nobody called me for 7 weeks i only got a fitting because i rang them to question what was going on with my dress because i hadnt heard anything! Then i jokingly said oh i want the corset nice and tight breathing isnt essential and she went psycho oh dont be so stupid your being totally unrealistic and then starts blbbing on about how all my food and drink will sit in my diaphram!! I then said I wanted the hem to touch the floor (not drag but just touch the floor) and she starts going on about how it should be atleast an inch of the floor umm no thats not how i want it! she then refused to do it and just said oh il do the back and then let you decide once you have some common sense!! Ive totally had enough! I didnt get a chance to get any pics as she had me in n out the dress in about 15 minutes as she was apparently in a rush as she had 2 fittings at the same time!!
But in better terms my hair trial went well and i love my hair!! :D!!

Do you have a pair of shoes that are an inch lower than your wedding shoes? Tell her you've changed your shoes then if she has made it too short its ok.
Did you explain you were joking about the breathing? Maybe she has no sense of humour.

only problem is ive already paid the money for it all to be done and i get married in 6 weeks so think id have some difficulty getting my money bk and finding someone else to do alterations and have it bk in 6 weeks time :( I will deffinutly be complaining after the wedding though once i have my dress! I will deffinutly be stating that nobody seemed to know what was going on the seamstress was rude and patronising i had no communication atal!! x

Is she the only seamstress they employ, if not ask for another. Is there nowhere else you could get the alterations done. I would demand a refund and go elsewhere. If they have'nt started the work there's no reason why you should'nt be able to get our money back cos she's not even doing what you want after all its your property not hers.

oh hun thats sounds like such a rude women!!
this was one of the reasons i didnt want to go to a bridal shop i was so worried about being looked down on etc
this women sounds awful tell her that you want the dress to just touch the floor not an inch above i would hate it if somebody was like this with me i would probably cry haha!
