I had an ivory dress. My colour scheme was also red with some gold and ivory.

Best to try different dresses on in the varying shades from white to champagne gold and all the shades in between to see what suits your complexion x

I've already ordered my dress but I need to let them know which colour I want and unfortunately they didn't have any white dresses in a shop. It's gonna a be a ball gown dress and the moment they told me I can have either of the colours it got me really confused :(

Most brides do find pure white washes them out so everyone I know has had ivory or off White.

One bridal store I went to when I was trying dresses on didn't even stock pure white dresses because they said noone buys actual white, they only seem to have brides wanting off white amd ivory.

my dress is ivory. but even with white and ivory there are different shades as well. you can have brilliant white etc. it might be nice ot have a slight contrast you dont want to blend in with your flowers and decorations x

mine is champagne. I tried on white but I am so pale it looked stupid on me. You really will have to try on and see what you think. If you like he ivory then go for that. I wouldn't worry about a clash

I thought I wanted ivory but I actually went for a "cafe" colour which is very similar to ivory just a little warmer. I would never have planned to go for that colour but it just happened to be the colour of the sample dress and it looked fab!

Mine is white, I didn't realise how many dresses were ivory rather than white! The shop I went to at the weekend had no white dresses at all! I wasn't really bothered whether I had white or ivory it just turned out that the dress I loved was white xx

Mine was ivory, with a champagne gold train. I think as a general rule the paler you are the darker the shade that will work. I'm a redhead so naturally very pale, and even if I wanted to get a tan I couldn't. I don't think a fake tan would have looked right either. A true white colour would have washed me out. Someone who is tanned or naturally has slightly darker skin would be more likely to get away with a really white dress.

I was adamant that I was having an ivory dress as I believed that white would wash me out. I do not tan, I burn and am a very pale blonde.

However I found my dress in a store where they had exactly the same dress in exactly the same size in both ivory and white.
To my huge surprise I preferred the White, even the consultants were surprised at how much better the white looked!

My advice would be try them both on as you never know

Try both on - you never know what you will like more! My dress comes in white, ivory and a colour and to my mum's shock she actually preferred the coloured one! (not that you can tell it's coloured - it looks more like a cream from the photo's)

Mine is ivory.... Its warmer than white. I think white looks great on everybody but it wasnt for me.
I am very pale and have dark hair.

Always try both on..... I had a line of dresses lined up and picked one wildcard and i wound up with the wildcard.
