Hi girls... our wedding was amazing but I thought Id share our disaster in the hope that if any of you have something go wrong you can remember this and know it wont spoil your day!!!
As our wedding was in scotland the bridesmaid dresses were a bit creased in transit so on the morning of the wedding my mum decided to steam iron them to drop out the creases and yes youve guessed it burnt a large hole in the front of one of the dresses!!! Luckily I was unaware of this until she'd fixed it by hastily putting in another pleat (as shes a pretty good seamstress thank god and the castle staff found the necesary bits!) we didnt tell the bridesmaid in question just said she'd put an extra pleat in to make it a better fit, lol.
I could see it but I dont think anyone else could! Beware the temptation to steam your dresses girls!!!

Wow, that could have been disastrous if your mum wasn't so handy with a needle and thread! I am glad my MIL 2b is also good with that, but will remember not do try and steam anything, lol. Congratulations on getting married though, hope your day was wonderful aside from the little mishap?! x

My silly bridesmaids ran off to the venue before they had laced up my dress, and my poor dad and the driver were the only ones left to sort it for me. I think it's pretty likely little stupid things will happen but you just have to laugh about it. I wasn't even upset, I just found the whole thing hilarious!
Good thing there wasn't a trouser press anywhere nearby or I might have really buggered things up!
CommentAuthorMrsB

I'm impressed you were so calm about it! I can't imagine I could react like that on the day. I will try to be calm and ignore things that go wrong though. I don't want to spoil the day worrying because the favours were forgotten or something silly

I think the little things that go wrong like that make the day more memorable and give you something to giggle about later on in life. I think if nothing happens on your wedding day then it makes for a boring story. I just hope that my disasters won't be bad enough to ruin the day but give us something to giggle about.
