Try the lemon meringue bars (1 and a half points) - they are lovely. And the carrot cake slices (1 point) - fantastic with a cup of tea. And make the 'no points soup', freeze some and keep some in the fridge (you can eat that, then have your evening meal, so you feel totally satisfied and full!).

HI Clarabelle, my h2b is the one on the diet and hes been using the wii fit loads.. says its exercise without really knowing that you're exercising if that makes sense. Anyway hes lost a few pounds already so hes on track. Also the way he does it is he has a piece of clothing that he wants to fit into rather than a weight and it keeps him motivated! I think I might join him on the wii fit when I'm home from uni.. Don't want him stealing the limelight with his new slimline self lol xx

I joined WW last Friday. Lost half a stone in the first week and though I've slowed down with the weight loss over this week I'm still losing every day. Do Wii fit for an hour a day. Really recommend it although beware the fact that only a few exercises really really burn calories especially in comparison to some of the cardio equipment at the gym but anything is better than nothing.

I use a lot of tesco light choices or asda be good for yourself instead of WW food as they're still good and WW have them on their lists but sometimes about half the price.

Well am having to get myself in to gear about loosing weight, am i thinking of going to slimming world as i have tried ww and didnt like it. I have at least two and half stone to loose and have seven months to do it . The plan i have in my head is to loose half a stone a month which in turn is two pound a week which i think is quite reasonable. My downfall is crisps and chocolate if i cut out these i loose the weight.

Well good luck to all you brides out there who are loosing weight and yes i think it's a good idea to have chat on here to encourage everyone

If your downfall is crisps and chocolate then try allowing yourself to have something but just choose a low-fat option. My downfall has always been chocolate, cakes and biscuits. Always fall off the wagon for a bar of galaxy lol. And frankly it's worth every pound I put on for it!!! I'm actually being good for once and that's coz I'm scheduling in snacks but low-fat ones. Slimfast do an amazing chocolate bar. It's like a snickers but tastes even better!!

i want to lose weight, my weddings not till end of 2012 but my best friends in May. I broke my foot in August spent 3months in cast then another month on crutches so i put on 9lbs and am struggling to get it off-bridesmaid dress is too tight-i started going back down the gym but had a arguement last night about applying for jobs and not getting anywhere and got into a defeated mood and ate a bag of doghnuts!!!can anyone suggest anything i can do to stop myself-bearing in mind i had to go get these doghnuts so i was pretty mindset

also my foot and leg still swells up after about 10mins walking/putting weight on it and ive got a knee length dress any idea of how can i get this swelling down quickly coz i dont want to be in photos with a enormous foot and leg. xx

Depends on why you go for doughnuts in particular. Just think what it is about them that made you crave them when you had a bad night and make sure you've always got something in that will satisfy you without all the fat. I have a low fat cookbook that my mum bought me one christmas (hmmm hint perhaps?) that has loads of different cakes and things like that in it but with stupidly low amounts of fat (for a cake). Try one of those. There's loads of exercises you can do lying down - try to get a fitness video based on a matt (I'm sure I've seen one advertised recently)
As for your leg raise it and ice it are the usual ways but that does you no good walking down the aisle in a knee length dress. Try anti-inflammatories and see what your doctor says. Get a circulation brush thingy. That might help if you do all over your body every day. Plus it'll make you feel good, exfoliate your skin and get rid of any cellulite. Hope that helps and someone else has better ideas than me. Good luck x

You could try a leg care regime. Use a good basic moisuriser.

Rub in upward strokes from your knee to your thigh, then from your ankle to your knee, and then your foot. This will help to reduce any fluid in your legs. You may find if it is fluid your leg will go down, but you may need to visit the toilet a little more, to get rid of excess fluid, its a lot friendlier than water tablets. xx

Spinning!!!!!!!!!!! everyone, its hell on earth to start with but becomes addictive, you burn sooooooo many calories in a 45 mns class than any other class i've ever done, i've lost 7lbs in 2 weeks and i've really still been eating normally, (you really ned the food after a class) i get bored doing excercise but 45 mins of intensive exercise is perfect, give it a go!!!

wouldnt recommend taking water tablets but would say to make a GP app asap so they can refer u to physio, try sitting with ur leg elevated and doing calf squeezes if ur in the house- ur lymphatic drainage system works using the natural contraction of ur muscles when walking so if ur not walking much it could lead to an increase of fluid in the legs. bandaging the ankles can help, dont know if u have any support bandages on- like the tubey ones- but better to ask practice nurse or GP with they think this will help and if bandaging is necessary they will need to show u how to do it correctly without cutting off circulation lol

Hey, I lost about 5 and a half stone kind of doing ww a number of years ago. If anyone starts and are doing exercise too, which I would recommend, please please please measure yourself too! It can be very disheartening if you go one week, after really trying hard, and don't lose anything! Toning up does that as muscle weighs more then fat!

I would strongly advise against any of the ready meals that they claim are low fat...one of the bad things ww does not take into account is the sugar and salt value of items, so make sure you check the packets first. I was always quite full on ww and filled up on loads of stir frys that were packed with beansprouts. They were my secret weapon! I now need to lose about a stone, so am just going to lots of classes at the gym and 'eating healthily'...I don't believe in diets! All ww showed me was how to portion size things. Once you nail that and are aware of what is in the food you are eating you will be fine :o) Only problem is healthy food costs more! Got my allotment plot last week though, so hopefully that will help solve that problem!!

    Good luck!!

I'd definitely recommend WW. I joined a few years ago and lost 4 stone. Unfortunately I put most of it back on over time - but the reason was once I reached my target weight I thought it would be easy to stop going and do it myself - not a good idea.

I get married in August 2011 and keep thinking I've got plenty of time for losing weight, but it'll soon come round so I'm going to have to start something again soon.

Sounds like a plan. Two of my friends who got married in September worked out together and lost loads of weight. They looked fab on the day and on honeymoon. It's all gone back on now though...
My diet is out of the window today as we're having our engagement party today so spent yesterday baking things that have more calories in one bite than I think I'm allowed all day on this diet and having a chocolate fountain. Back to the grindestone on Monday though!!!

Clarey...it's a great idea. We work out together, although we like different things sometimes, so I go to classes either by myself or with friends and he goes out for a run, but we both love walking and swimming so do that together. It's great motivation. I've lost 6lbs in January already and only have another 7 to go :o)

I joined rosemary connelly class - getting on quite well. You get weighed follow a low cal and fat diet and have an exercise class you do - it is the one that my GP are recommending to patients - the classes are also discounted for a number of weeks if you BMI is over a certain amount.
