I have managed to lose just over 2 stone just following a healthier diet myself since last year, as I am unable to do much exercise due to having fibromyalgia. I am considering doing the 12 week weight programme arribba are doing, its a weight loss challenge and the person who loses the most inches wins £300. And also trying to walk more but struggle a bit as my muscles spasm a lot due to my condition.

Good luck to all that are trying to lose weight for their big day xx

Hi all well done to all who is doing well, well i had a bad day yesterday as it was time for weighing lol but after a good week i havent moved which knocked me back yesterday to the point where i wouldnt eat but my H2b being the man he is sat me down and gave me a good telling off which had put me back on track, that was my 4th week and up to now i have lost 8lb which is good i think that just not moving on the scales really disheartened me but hey at least i didnt put on and i feel the difference in my clothes so its just made me stronger to carry on and reach my goal. Sorry for the rant but just needed to air it lol and keep up the good work everyone xxxxxxxx

hi everyone, i have quite a bit of weight to lose (would love to lose 6-7 stone) and I have decided im joining slimming world this week and really looking forward to getting started into it. I have one problem though, i tend to lack motivation and I'm really scared that I'll do great the first while and then start to gradually go downhill as this isn't the first time i've tried to lose weight. I keep saying to myself that I'll just keep thinking of me in my wedding dress on the day and hopefully looking fab, but the wedding isn't until 18th July 2014 and I'm worried that i'll get into the 'i've got plenty of time to do it' mode because really I don't, especially because i would like to get down to my ideal size and maintain for at least a year before the wedding. Does anyone have any tips on keeping the motivation going? I'm sorry for the long rant :( would love to hear from anyone that could help :) xxxxx

Hi Kyliem...I think the best thing to do is not to say I am losing weight for my wedding...you are losing weight for you and nothing else. I don't believe in diets, just healthy eating and plenty of exercise. I lost over 5 stone a few years ago and give or take half a stone I have managed to stay pretty much the same weight since. Go to sl or ww, but let it teach you about portion size and not how to get a quick fix because it will not work in the long term. You have to want to do it for you and you need to be prepared for a change in life style and not a quick fix solution because there is no such thing. Sorry if that sounds negative, but I have been there with promises from lots of people about losing weight fast and it really does not work! Good luck x

Hi elmcmillan, thanks for the advice. I agree quick fix solutions really do not work and usually you end up putting it all back on and more than you originally started. Well done you for losing all that weight thats excellent! I definitely am wanting to do this for me and have been wanting to do this since before the word wedding even arrived lol so I have a feeling that its going to be different this time, im feeling different about it in that I feel that i really have reached the point were im fed up with the way i am at the minute and really want to change that. Im looking forward to the challenge and the change in lifestyle because there are definite things that need to change e.g. i dont eat breakfast which is a big no no so that will definitely be different. Thank you for your support :) xxxxx

Makes me laugh 'wedding diets'. Can it not just be a lifestyle change?

The amount of people I have known that lost weight for their wedding only to then go back to their old habits and put it all back on again. Such a waste.

Best diet would be healthy eating and exercise = lifestyle change.
All these fad diets are only really designed for short term weight loss.

    Hi Kyliem,

Good for you :o) I get really annoyed with just for the wedding quick fix diets! You'll only be miserable and grumpy and then eat more pizza then you did before...been there!! Yes breakfast is a big thing...I never used to eat it, but now I make myself every day and to be honest I couldn't do without it now! I am also lucky that I can eat at my desk at work, so even if I go to the pub to be sociable I can just have a diet pepsi and come back to my salad. I just stock up on loads of different fruit and try to eat as many veggies at night as I can and other then my one glass of diet pop it's all water for me! Plus I am actually loving the exercise...surprised at how much! I am meeting new people in the classes and have loads of energy :o) So good luck and I hope you get to your goal :o) x

Hiya everyone, well done to all who are doing great... hope to join you soon!!
    Hello Kyliem,
Just read your posts and I could have been reading about me!!
I lost 7 stone about 6 years ago through Weight Watchers, my marriage fell apart and I lost my self esteem/motivation. I found another person's appetite to go with mine and BINGO!! Where DID this wobbly body come from??
Some people I knew said 'oh but Gina, you carry it well!'..... Right up to the point when I lost the weight and then they said 'oh but Gina, you look scrawny!' The lesson I learned is dont listen to others, do what is right for you!!
Have you considered breaking your loss into 7lb chunks? Thats what I do because its more achievable than 'I gotta lose 8 stone!!'
Keep it up Kyliem!! Do this with us and once you get going i just KNOW you are going to love the new slimmer, energetic, happier, healthier you that emerges..I promise!!
Keep us posted too... would love to know how its going!! xxxx

    Hi everyone,

Did you see the story of the woman who was 18st (was size 22) and lost 8st (now size 10) by doing Wii Fit for one hour every day? It was in the newspaper this weekend. So... as well as doing W.W. I will also be doing that bad boy too! Third week of W.W., another 3 and a half pounds off - 4 more pounds and that will be a stone gone :o)

I really lack motivation but I think calling it a 'wedding diet' helps me as it reminds me of my goal - I just think about the dress I want and how much better it will look without horrific bulges everywhere!

    Keep it up ladies xxx

    300g skinless chicken breast
    1 egg
    50g crushed cornflakes
cajun spice and ground black pepper to taste

Beat egg and put in a dish
add pepper and spice to cornflakes
chop chicken breast into nugget sized chunks, then dip into egg and roll in cornflakes.
Place on dish and over bake for about 20 minutes

tastes yummy, serves 2 and is only about 270 calories

Hi Happy2bme and elmcmillan! Thanks for the support :) I am happy to say that i am now a member of slimming world again :D I rejoined last nite and came out feeling so motivated because just hearing about other people's great success in their weight loss each week was brilliant, kept saying to myself 'that's going to be me soon'.

Yes Happy2bme i'm taking it each half stone at a time because then it makes it that little bit easier when thinking about it. Also the great thing with slimming world is that for every half stone you lose they give you a certificate and a shiny sticker :D (i'm a big kid and love the stickers lol) so my goal is half a stone each time.

Congrats to you on your weight loss :D thats brill! Keep it up :) I dont get weighed til next tues night but I'll keep you's updated on the progress!

Good luck to everyone who's trying to lose weight, stick at it even though there are times that will be hard and we want to give up but just think it will all pay off in the end :D xxxxxxx

I like counting points as it tells me when to stop! :o)

I've never done SW so I don't know if it would work for me, but my friend does it and we get weighed on the same day so I get a bit of moral support that way. She also tells me about her meetings, which are quite funny.

I just need to keep it up now...

Hi all, I'm 6 weeks away from my big day and although I'm not a big girl (I'm tall at 5'9 and I weigh 11st which sounds huge but proportionately I'm not too bad...!) I'm a size 12 and the skirt on my mahoosive red dress is a size 10. When I first tried it on it was a little snug, but ok. I thought, ah well, its a whole year to my big day and I only need to lose a few pounds.... now its nearly here and at my last fitting it was even tighter!! The lady said she'd stick another hook on it, but I really want to feel lovely and slim on the big day. I'm unfortunately not one of those people who naturally drops weight with stress, so there's no chance I'll lose it that way!! And I'm ridiculously under-motivated to diet or exercise.... I'm about to do a 10 minute work out which I need to push myself to do daily to get any benefit from.... but I am also taking Acai supplements. No idea if they work or not yet, only taken them a couple of days and these things tend to be a bit gimicky don't they? But I was drawn in by advertising... oops. Anyone tried them? Did they work? I'll try to remember to let you know if they work for me but I've got to remember to take the things first!! lol xxx
