Shortly before my first wedding a friend gave me a bottle of perfume, I thought it was a lovely surprise but couldn't understand why she gave it to me. I wore it a couple of times, but didn't really like it and it gave me a headache. On the day of my wedding she smelt my perfume and asked what perfume I was wearing... I told her it was my normal perfume. She seemed quite offended by it and asked why I hadn't worn the perfume she gave me!
Until yesterday, I didn't realise the significance of the perfume she gave me...
We were discussing the wedding yesterday and she asked me if I would be buying any specific toiletries for my wedding day! TBH, it's not something that I had ever thought of! Then she told me that she bought me that perfume, all those years ago, to wear on my wedding day.
Apparently she went out and bought a set of shower gel, body lotion and perfume for her wedding day.
So, my question is, has anyone specifically bought (or will be buying) a perfume and toiletries for their wedding?
I have a perfume that I only wear on special occasions, it's more expensive than my usual perfume, so I like to save it for these events. I'd probably just have worn that perfume!

blimey i havent even thought about it - i might wear my usual one that i wear on special occasions but then i might go and see what others are on the market..... who knows lol.

I've seen lots of magazines that suggest you invest in a new perfume for your wedding day, but personally I think this is yet another thing for people to spend money on! I'm quite happy with my special occasion perfume and my H2B already associates that scent with me, so think I'll stick to it on the day - Gucci Flora :-)

My friend would probably be mortified if she knew I'd be using tesco cocoa butter body lotion on my wedding day lol! But I'm glad I'm not the only one who hadn't even thought of this.
My occasion perfume is Escada Ocean Lounge... which is impossible to get now unless you buy it online!

i love all the prada scents so will definately be wearing prada probably the milano one as its the first perfume my H2B bought me :-) i like quite a strong scented perfume which will be ideal on the day as i wont need to keep re spraying xxx

I dont really wear any perfume, but I do like ck one, and i wear charlie red body spray, I might just have evryone to buy my lots of different sorts for xmas so I can try loads lol. x

I am totally with bridalmiss - it's just ANOTHER silly thing that encourages us to spend more money.
I don't like perfume or any perfumed toiletries so for sure I won't be buying anything else out of the ordinary. I do own a perfume that I like and I will more than likely wear this or nothing. It's Gwen Stefanis Lamb. One of the few sweeter cents that doesn't give me a headache.

I'll be wearing Cerrutti 1881. H2B always says how much he loves it when I wear it, and Im thinking its his favourite scent as this is the only one he says it about. Or if Ted Baker do Purple (Ive got the body lotion, body spray and shower gel so just want the perfume!) maybe that, as thats what I wore on the first date.

I hadn't really thought about it but I did see one in a bridal mag the other day, it had one of those scented bits- it was lovely! So im thinking now that I may buy that or add to a xmas list then put it away for wedding day.

Ive got a few perfumes that i like but at the moment its Armani Diamonds, got this at the airport when we went away this year and I love it. H2B's fave is DKNY Light Blue, and its not to overpowering so I could go for that one too. Perfume was probably the last thing on my mind, and knowing me i'd probably forget to put it on!

I love Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb. It's gorgeous but a bit pricey. I've had it before as a gift from h2b so will treat myself to a bottle for the big day. It's something I would love to pop down and buy for myself anyway but i'll wait. It'll be a familiar scent on me, but not the same as I'd wear to work that way. x

I have a perfume that I wore a lot when me and H2B were first together, and I haven't really worn it since then because it was discontinued (one of the mix and match ones by the body shop). I have since found a bottle on eBay and so I will be wearing it on my wedding, should evoke some memories from the beginning of our relationship and help make new memories.

I've got flowerbomb and thought that'd be what I'd go for but I think, for me, it's a bit heavy for the wedding if you know what I mean? Plus I've been wearing it to work so wouldnt be special. I am getting daisy by marc jacobs for xmas so maybe that could be the one! x

I know what you mean about Flowerbomb, it is a bit heavy but it'll last all day then. Most perfumes I use I can't smell after a little while. I love Angel, but that's far too strong at times I think. I suppsoe I could get a 'Summer' version. They are usually a bit lighter.
I am tempted by Gucci Flora or the new DKNY Gold Delicious though. x
