I have just been on the phone to the hotel again to try and see what they are doing since its taking them forever to get back to me about a date and price(even tho the date i want is free). All because i dont want the packages they are offering. Anyway, just had a chat with the woman who does all the decoration and she asked again for what I wanted, which is really simple. Ceremony at the hotel with 40 guests leading to a reception of 80 guests.

Now my problem started when she asked the next question. When will you be having everything at :S I hadnt thought through the day to detail as of yet as I didnt think it was overly important yet. What I have said to her is

    5pm - ceremony
after guests will have nibbles and a drink while photos are being done
6:30 guests for reception will start to arrive with dj already playing.
7:30 first dance followed by speeches and cutting of the cake
8:30 buffet and then Dance the night away.

Tho now I am unsure as I have never been to a wedding done this way and the lady sort of made noises on the phone and i felt a bit silly afterwards. I dont know if the times work. Anyone had a later wedding? or does this timing sound ok? Im not sure if the buffets to late. xxx

I didn't realise you could have a later wedding, we're having a civil ceremony and had the choice of 1.30 or 3pm I think. But we've left half hour for the ceremony, 1 and a half hours for the photos, then should be sitting down for dinner at 4pm. evening guests at 7.30pm.
I think your timing is about right to be honest, although it will all go much quicker than that lol! xx

Because we arent having a sit down meal we didnt see the point of having the wedding to early in the day and it my h2bs Aunt who is performing the ceremony. So think we were luck in the fact we could pick any time. Having a pampering session in the morning for me and my bridesmaids :D

Think the next time I talk to them I will just say 'i dont know, please just deal with it and tell me!' lol. I thought thats why they had wedding orginisers at hotels. Thanks Girls :D

I would have thought the venue should sort the timings out for you. If you need help from them, just ask and I'm sure they'd help you? Xxx

Think the big problem is they have 2 orginisers. One for the practical side and one for the decoration side. The one i talked to today was the decoration side. So Im hoping tomorrow that the other one phones and she can at least help me with it all. H2B is trying to help, but really hes none the wiser than me. You wouldnt think this is second time round for both of us. lol. xxx
