Hi there, Can anyone tell me where I can get a small (ish) chest to use as a post box? The only ones I've really seen are on Etsy and they are shipped from the US so rather pricey. I don't really like the ones made from card, I had my heart set on a wooden one (or something similar, although again I'm not a huge fan of the little suitcases you can get!) possibly in the shape of a little chest or I have seen ones that are in the shape of a big round hat box, but I just can't find any english suppliers. I guess it doesn't have to be specifically wedding-y as long as it's cute! Maybe I'm just searching for the wrong thing on the Bay. ... Any help appreciated. xxx

Some of stalls in Camden market do old wooden looking treasure chest kind of things- they're not expensive (although I don't know how much the big ones cost, paid a couple of quid for a little one I use as a jewellery box) and haggling is actively encouraged! Not sure where in the county you are but any of these market stalls that sell bits from India/ Morrocco etc on the cheap seem to do similar kinds of things. Good luck! C x

Ooh Camden, I was only there last weekend! Darn it, didn't even think to look.... thanks for that. Might have to pop back! xx

Think it's changed quite a bit since I lived there but am sure there are places in the Stables market that still do bits like that. Think there's a place at the back of the Stables near the main road just past The Cuban (sells scarves, cheap jewellery, lots of abroad-y sort of stuff) and I'm sure I've seen them in there!

How funny...I ate in The Cuban!!! We popped in as we got a voucher from h2bs work. Didn't even think of looking for anything like that, although I did get a lovely necklace!!! ;-)
Lol! Well I don't know if they'll def still have them but worth a look (and always nice to have an excuse to go Camden Market shopping!!) x

i can't help as far as a treasure chest but if its for putting cards in then maybe you could consider a birdcage? We bought a lovely bronze one from ebay and I've decorated it with flowers. It looks really pretty and it cost about £15 in total xxx

Thanks for that Sara, I will look into that. My newest idea is maybe getting a hatbox. That could be pretty cool do you think? You can get them in such pretty colours and covered in fabric. xx

I'm doing same thing Sara, got an ivory antique-looking birdcage and going to put flowers round outside. Hatbox is great idea too, some gorgeous ones out there! x

I got this for £8 from Dunelm Mills, I am filling it with flowers but it would make a lovely card box

Ikea do some wooden boxes where the lid has a little hole in that are great ( we have loads of them around the house ) i'll see if i can find them, they are plain wooden colour but can quiete easily be spray painted whatever colour you need

Thanks guys. I'm not as keen on the wishing wells to be honest I think they would take up a bit too much room! I like the sound of the ikea boxes though, I will have a look on their website, but do post a pic if you have one, I would be most grateful ...:-) Thanking you all ladies. Where would I be without you all xxx
