Does anyone have any idea's for wedding cakes? I wanted cupcakes but now not sure, all I know is we don't want the roll out icing but need something to go on a sponge and spice. Totally confused!!

I'd go searching around to get a good idea.. try different shops.. search on the internet..wedding fayres It's amazing how many ideas you can get my typing it in google hun lol. xx

yeah wedding fairs is a good place to look as the people are normally quite keen to talk to you about stuff. i haven't started looking for mine yet either so can't really help much more! xx

i ordered my cake if u look on pics its a heart but im having a cake topper made out of the same feathers in my boquet.

Oooh your cake looks lovely Wawa.. Were only having 20 guests so not having a 2 tier.. just the one. M&S do nice cakes that's where I'm getting ours from.
Have you looked at butter cream icing? Or fondant? Im realllllllllllllly not keen on white rolled out iceing so im having cupcakes as favours with butter cream icing on and the main cake will have fondant icing and will be all different flavours to suit everybody (bottom fruit to suit the older guests, middle choc sponge for the younger guests and plain sponge for the diabetics in my family as there are a few) and were having 50 day guests with another 50 on top for the evening reception.

We are having an 8-tier (not all cake!) lol chocolate truffle wedding cake. The cake itself is like chocolate brownie and its covered in chocolate ganache-which is like the centre of a lindor! :D x

Wedding fayres are a great place to get ideas and on the internet! Most places will make any cake you want if you take them a design in, and will do differant layers for you!

yum nicci sounds yum love lindor choc, i got lindor egg for easter yum yum yum. thanks shellg found it at a wedding fare, i loved it that much had to have it and it works with the theme. have you seend the feathers to go on top of it

Thanks guys. We were going for a chocolate sponge wedding cake but im not a fan of the thick icing on them so i came across this lady who is a chef and went to try her cake-i was smitten! lol x
