we budgeted 12k originally but if u include everything inc engagement ring its now at 26k and we really didnt want it to go that high but it crept up. Everything is booked now except the odd thing so we know where we stand and we did question the amount of money but as h2b said, yes its a lot of money but we want it to be memorable and for everyone, but most importantly ourselves, to have a fantastic time and just have a fab day. we are getting a 4k contribution from parents fund but still need to find the rest which is daunting but i refuse to take out cards etc. If u can afford it without getting in to debt then go ahead and have the wedding u always dreamed of. However, bear in mind that one of the reasons we questioned our decision is that you can have an amazing day on 2k as its about the ppl and the atmosphere. All this money will not guarantee a fab atmosphere so if u cant justify spending it then dont..... your wedding will be amazing anyway... its your wedding day for crying out loud.

We have a ridiculously large budget (thanks to faboo grand-in-laws to be), but are not going to be hitting anywhere near the amount they are giving us tbh. We are coming up with lots of wonderful bargains, have fabulous friends and are saving on soo many things. As others have said the main thing for us is that all those we want to be there are going to be and we have the day that we want.
But, even saying that, in the end the overall and ultimate importance is that we get married :o)

we dont exactly have a budget at the minute we are just buying stuff as we can afford it my nan bought my dress and is saving bits and pieces where she can although im on sick at the minute but only work 8 hours anyway so not gona be able to save much!! have done a costing or whatever its called and it all works out at about 7k without a honeymoon! So we are puttting it back a few years til we can afford it! Iv always dreamed of a fairytale wedding and we both have huge families!! Although we are paying mostly ourselves! i wish we could get onto dont tell the bride so we can get married earlier because all i want is to get married to ryan!! plus he will have to organise everything instead of me haha not sure if i could hold back though!!

We started at 10k, but we've added the honey moon, and as it stands it's looking more like 20k - h2b keeps adding stuff, not realising it's making it all more expensive (!)

wow you lovelies getting help from friends and family are very lucky!! I agree that the budget doesnt make or break a wedding its the people :) I have waited 8 years since getting engaged to save up and we are looking at a budget of around £14K...its the other way round for me...I need to pay extras for all friends and family, looks like im even gonna have to pay for the 30 hotel rooms. MOB and MOG outfits..bridesmaids, flower girls (could I ask for the dresses back to sell them on do you think?). Its frustrating sometimes as I know some of them could afford it if they wanted to help out but hey you cant choose your family can you! lol

my H2b and I are paying for it all ourselves, so budgeting is vital we are trying to cut costs from all angles, both of us have lost both parents so its extremely difficult but with a good plan a good eye and the bay of e it all helps. xx

we've worked out that ours is going to come in somewhere between 4 and 5k, preferably nearer to 4! Although mum paid for my dress so thats not being counted, and wedding rings have already been paid for so we're not counting that either. Decided to do my own flowers to save money there but we've still got the honeymoon to pay for - asking for donations towards that instead of gifts though so hopefully that will help! xx

Our original wedding budget was 8 - 10k without a honeymoon. Since we swapped to Cyprus we have worked out everything will come to between 3-5k closer to the 5k if we charter a yacht for champagne toasts and cutting of the cake. All in all tho we will have massive savings now, with a honeymoon included. xxx

awwww how cute and you get the wedding paid for yey.... beginning to think my budget is a huge waste of money but already put the deposits down now. If i was to do this again, which i better not have to, then I would just go abraod and do something low key there. NEVER again going for the big white wedding so h2b has been warned hes not allowed to go anywhere and put me throuigh another one haha

my mum and his mum are paying around 4k together so we still need to find about 18k and thats not including the original cost of the e ring but at least h2b brought that. tbh ive got confused with my figures going round and round and I know i dont have to find 18k as paid some of it off but im getting bloody confuzzled now haha. Need to leave it and come back to it later and start again. I think at last count we were at inc honeymoon of 4k no spends we were at 24 000 but ive paid some off (not sure how much) and parents paying 4k. Advice to anyone having a big budget.... dont do it.... save those pennies and go and have an anazing honeymoon. YOu will have all the stress of figuring out how much you have to save, what your savings are, can you afford to go to tis night out etc..... save those pennies girls. I will never be doing this again. Cheap and chearful all the way for the renewal somewhere nice and hot.

mines cheap and cheerfull from the get go :P i'm not one for spending money at all so when he told me we was getting married i was just like right wheres cheapest places to do it lol
its ended up registry office (which i honestly don't mind) not being a believer in god (sorry t those who are)
and our local social club :D
my mum knows the manager of a sandwhich shop an shes giving me discount for the food which my mum and his mum are paying for. My mum has sort of taken over buying things so when i say the budget i mean what me and h2b are paying for which isn't alot so i don't have alot of stress of figuring out how much is left to pay :D

seems all i need to do now is get my dress, a hair stylist and the rings so its nice and stress free for me :D

i know alot of ppl are spending alot on thier wedding but i'm one of those that could never justify spending that much even if we had the money, guess h2b got lucky there cause hes a tight fisted bloke lol

special sundae if you can afford it then go for it.... we can afford it too but we are having to save up those pennies and I dont know about you but even though its what I thought i wanted, I am missing going out with my friends as a result thats all im saying. Just that in hindsight, id rather stick with the norm instead of doing what was expected of me because of my situation and the pressure of having the big wedding that my mum wont experience with the other sisters. we are now stuck as everything now has to be of an equally high standard which also limits our options with the more 'fun' aspects to the wedding which now we cant have as they dont fit in with the venue
If you can afford it and are comfortable saving then big budgets are always nice so im not trying to discourage you if you are happy and comfortable. All im saying is that if it comes at the risk of possibly affecting your relationship with your family and friends as you have to watch the pennies then is it worth it for us? but its too late for us now.

I know it's the day we have all dreamed of but I would much rather have a safety net in the bank, just in case !

If, of course, other people were paying for our wedding and they could afford it then bloody right we'd have the whole shabang.....but as we are paying over 90% of the total cost ourselves we are trying to be what we would consider sensible.

I would love a £25k wedding, but realisticly, we want a comfortable life after we've married.....it is 1 day after all and we have our whole lives together.

    xxx
