Is anyone having speeches first? My h2b suffers with nerves, I think he'd prefer to get them out of the way to begin with.

We are having them after each course, so one will go after main, then one after pudding and then one after cheese and biscuits :) xx

i wanted speeches first, but have been told we are eating first then everyones meal can go down while we have the speeches followed by the dancing. though my gf does want the speeches in her mums house in the afternoon, between the ceremony and eveing, but i said thats sill cos most people will miss out on the speeches...

i didnt realise it was tradition that way round. only ever been to a handfull of weddings, most when i was a kid.
One i went to we had a hot fork buffet, sliced meats, veggies etc and once everyone had been up and got thier food the speeches started while we were eating... the other was my first wedding and we did speeches first, MUCH to the anooyance of my then MIL and her mother. who kept moaning it was half past twelve and they should be eating, lunchtime was at 12 and how rude it is to keep guests frome eating lol

we haven't been told how long as we can have it as long as we like so how long should i expect? we dont want evening reception to start until 7pm and ceremony will be at 2 or 3pm with pics inbetween ceremony and meal. Am i cutting it fine do you think? (Sorry to jump in on ur discussion Sazzell!) xXx
