I was thinking this morning, how hard would it be to organise a wedding without the internet? I'm sure some of you who have been married before may have done it web-free before so I just wondered how the experience differs? All my research has been online (and a few weddings I have been to). How about you?

I think it would start becoming more expensive!
A lot of things these days are bought from the bay, so b2b arent spending a fortune!
There are parts of my wedding that will be completely web free!

Caterer as he is my uncle.
Flowers as i have to see what im thinking about for real
My Dress - although i have already seen this online i would not order it from online.
Bits and bobs to fill the kids boxes
    and the centre pieces
So far are all non web related!

Most of my items have been researched on the net for example, someone i know is doing my cake and so i am looking for designs that i like that she can copy, I have also researched flowers but I am having them done by someone I know. I suppose you could get the same from wedding magazines but it would just take a lot longer.

and you would be paying £5 each nearly for a wedding mag!!!
where the internet is free (well obviously you have your broadband bill but most people would have that already)
so more expense for web free planning lol!

Exactly but on the otherhand the internet gives you more choice and therefore more opportunity to spend money on things you might not even have thought of with a web-free wedding.

    true!

    Ohh it is complicated!!

You also might think your getting a great deal on something and buy more of it which means it costs more as your buyinng more of each item and spending more!

We found the venue, my dress, men's suits, bridesmaids dresses, florist, favors, all rings and gifts for best man, bridesmiads and mothers without using the web. I could have done it using local advetisments and recommendations, but it would have been a lot harder without email as I live 90 miles away from where we got married, and one of my bridesmaids lives in South Africa.
