    Hey ladies,

Looks like rain is forcast for our big day. Its annoying because we chose loch lomond for the gorgeous scenery and we wont be able to get the photos in the gorgeous wee spot we found in the middle of nowhere (10 min drive from the hotel). Thing is I know there is no point at all worrying about the weather as there is nothing we can do about it. I just wondered if any of the married ladies had rain on your day and if it made any difference to you?

I so wanted an outdoor ceremony but we need at least 2 days of dry weather before the wedding day so the grass is dry enough to put the chairs on. I really dont want to let it get me down but I cant help thinking what a shame it would be when weve had so much sun recently :-(

My brother got married last weekend in april and it rained and was soooo windy. To be honest they were sooo excited to be married that didnt notice the weather and cant do anything about it anyway. It did ruin the photos slightly as couldnt take as many as they wanted outside the church as people were getting blown away and my granny was going blue but being so cold so the photographer found a nice spot inside the venue instead.

I wouldnt worry too much honey as nothing you can do about it.... i always wanted a outdoors wedding but you cant predict this weather so decided it was safer not too xxx

See thats why we chose our venue as they have an indoor and outdoor option for the ceremony. I wasnt too bothered but they have just built this wooden platform with a reallly lovely black and white mini gazebo thing (with climbing plants round the poles) for the ceremony to take place under. Its exactly what Ive always dreamed of. So I realllly wanted it under that BUT I need to be positive so I keep thinking well, if we cant have the wedding under the gazebo we can have lots of photos taken there as it will shield us from the rain. Its annoying cos its the one thing you cant control lol. I dont want to drive myself mad worrying about it though so I am trying to be positive. H2B says we can go to the place we found on a sunny day and dress up again if I want. He says he'll pay for me to have my hair done again :-) So I suppose thats an option :-)

This is what im worried about im getting Married in February, so high chance of rain or even SNOW...!! i wouldnt really mind if it was either, im staying at my venue the night before so i havent got to worry about getting wet, its just the photos as The venue im getting married at (Lynford Hall Hotel) has absolutely beautiful gardens so it would be abit disappointing if we couldnt have as many photos out there as we would like :-/ xxx

Thats the thing that gets to me. I know the reception room will look nice as I have the day before to decorate the room and sort everything out and I gues 70% of the day is spent in there. BUT we found this spot in the middle of nowhere where the land jots out into the loch and its surrounded by crazy looking trees and the mountains in the backround. Its like a fairy tale land! I would love photos there but if its raining we have no chance as we need to walk through some woods to get to it.

I suppose we could go back when its sunnier but thats kinda cheating isnt it?

That landscape does sound absoutely amazing, there's nothing to stop you going back on a sunny day and taking more photos in a 'Rock the Frock' shoot and that wouldn't be cheating at all, it's just a smart way to get the photos you want ;-) You'll have an amazing day no matter what but I will keep everything crossed that it dries up for you xx

It rained on my day hun. it didn't ruin it, but we were unable to do the group pics outside as the grass was sodden which i was quite disappointed about. but in the grand scheme of it all, it was only a minor problem. It will only ruin your day if you let it. We had a fab day and its the best day of my life so far. so dont panic, buy some wedding umbrellas just in case and just go with the flow. :)) It will be perfect no matter what. xx

Thank you ladies, thats true. If I worry about it, I'll ruin it for myself plus its Scotland. I am most definately used to the rain lol. Maybe I should look at it as "yes I do want it to rain" and plan for rain in my head then if its dry I'll be happily surprised. I'm off to ebay to look at big umbrellas!

I really dont want to be worrying this close to the day, I really want to enjoy the run up to the wedding.

Thank you everyone, its so nice having a bit of reassurance :-)

I've got rain forecast for Friday :( I just really hope we can get some shots outside cause our reception is at york racecourse and theres not many places inside to get photos at all.

Saturday is forecast bright sunshine which kind of rubs it in as well, but at the end of the day, I can't stop the rain :(

    xx

It poured and poured nearly every day and when our day arrived it stopped!! But when I left for the wedding car it started, was a few showers on and off I would say... Didn't make a blind bit of difference to be honest!! Had the most perfect day anyway. The bouncy castle we had for the kids had a rain cover on so they were happy and we had a hog roast in the evening and the venue put it under a covered marquee for us. I can honestly say, thunder, lightning, tornado - we wouldn't have noticed!! I worried myself over it and got so spotty with stress and it wasn't worth the worry. X

    Here comes the bride......

I won't be able to check the forecast for mine yet - get married in two weeks. Hopefully it will be ok. I can get sone lovely shots indoors, but the grounds are so beautiful it would be a shame not to get some photographs there. Then again we did our pre shoot with our photographer in the rain and that was in April and didn't bother us. So if we end up with showers on and off I'll just have to bring wellies and a brolly just in case lol! x

I was thinking about that when it was so sunny the other week. I thought how it would be uncomfy in the dress Ive chosen, cos its a mermaid style its very toight and even when I put it on in the house its a bit sweaty. I was worried about it being too hot but now its going the other way. Well at least we are now prepared for anything! I hadnt though about my wellies. I'll tell my bms to bring their best wellies too!

:-( its such a shame when its been so nice recently!

Did you have a nice day other than the rain?

could you go and photos done again in your outfits? Our friend is doing our photos so she has offered to do them again if its raining. It will probably end up costing us about £100 to do it again (for my hair&kilt hire) but I soooo want to see my dress in the sun and the forcast for the 16th doesnt look good :-(

just found the long range forecast that says it should be sunny but as it's not from the met office/BBC weather site I will check their 7 day forecast next weekend! Fingers crossed but if i get showers on and off it won't spoil things completely. Plus we have a lovely photographer so hopefully he won't mind going back to do photos if we can't get the ones we want! xxx
