I need your opinions please ladies!

I'm going to Glastonbury in a couple of weeks and I'm really not sure if I want to risk wearing my engagement ring. I'd be too scared of losing it or getting it nicked... but at the same time, I don't just want to leave it at home in case anything happens here either. Am I worrying too much? lol. I'm not sure what else I could do with it though?

If you don't take it off it won't get nicked! Is it likely to slip off accidently there?

It does get a little loose when my hands are cold but normally it fits really well.

Just had a nosy at your photos and my ring is almost identical to yours!!

I only live about 30 minutes from the glastonbury site, and believe me, you want your head tested if you wear expensive/sentimintally attached jewellery to glastonbury!

I've been going to gigs for 25 years or so, and i never take credit cards, i never take my driving license - it's cash only. At least if your going to have anything lost/stolen, then thats all you will lose.

Personally I wouldn't risk it as it could get nicked or you could accidentally lose it. :s

I'm not going to risk it... I need part of it filing down so my wedding ring sits flush against it so I'm going to take into the jewellers to be done while I'm at glasto instead of when I get it cleaned just before the wedding. Panic over :-)

If you're worried about it slipping off then it maybe a good idea to get the ring resized smaller.

It fits perfectly normally, a little too snug actually. It's just when my hands get really cold that it gets loose

It wouldn't worry me TBH. A ring can get stolen anywhere; I'm just as likely to get mugged in my home town/shopping in London as I am at a festival/on holiday. I travel frequently with thousands of pounds worth of things (eg jewellery/DLSR/designer clothes/shoes), to places like Mexico/Cuba, and have never had an issue. I have insurance for all my valuables though.

That's very true barbie! I won't take my ring yet I'll take my iPhone and digital camera without a second thought. I suppose it's the sentimental value more than anything

I do get that; but if that's the case, surely you wouldn't wear it anywhere?

I wouldn't wear mine diving, as a) fish LOVE sparkle, so, not a good idea lol and b) my fingers contract in the sea, so, it could slip off easily; and I'm not going to be able to easily get it back 30 feet under water! That, and something like climbing, are the only times I wouldn't wear it; to gigs, festivals, whatever, I'd wear it, as it's highly unlikely it will come off, and the risk of theft is the same as it is anywhere else.

I just think not wearing it because it might get lost/stolen is a bit nonsensical, because it could get lost/stolen anywhere.

I do agree it could get lost or stolen anywhere but Glastonbury conditions aren't something you come up against every day!

But, it's just wet and crowded lol.

Id you don't feel comfortable wearing it, then obv don't; I'm just giving my opinion which is that personally, there are very very few occasions where I wouldn't wear mine.

This will be the first time and place that I haven't worn mine. It's a lot easier to pick it up off the floor of a normal venue than it is digging around in a pile of mud if it was to drop off. Lol

I am grateful for your opinion... hence the reason I asked as I wanted to know what others would do! :-)

I've just come back from Download Festival and I didn't take my engagement ring with me. I wore my eternity ring instead as it's flatter and fits a little snugly on my finger
