Hello all- I am kind of new, had joined when we got engaged two years ago, in the meantime we bought a house and had a baby and now we have finally set a date- 3.12.15-it'll be a three year engagement but lots happens and it's booked in! Looking forward to getting some ideas as we are not having a huge do and sharing some ideas!

And don't worry about the long engagement - we had been engaged just over 2 years before we even started thinking about actually getting married haha. We will have been engaged almost 4 and a half years by the time we actually do tie the knot! Congratulations on the house and your baby.

Congrats! A longer engagement just means more time to get it just right!
We have booked Bath Registry Office. As we are in a budget we couldn't agree on what to save on and what to splurge on so after a good debate we realised everything we disagreed on (wedding breakfasts, guest list, bridal party etc) didn't matter- we want to marry each other and we were falling out over things that cost a lot if money and don't make the marriage, so it'll be just us two on the day we go engaged three yrs before, then flying out to rome where we got engaged and having a honeymoon there

Congratulations on setting your date! The same happened with me! We got engaged in 2012, had our little girl in 2013, and just bought a house this year. For these reasons we aren't getting married until 2017 so our daughter will be old enough to remember and to understand and also because we need the time to save. Our venue is exclusive and fairly extravagant for where we live so it is going to take us a while to save the money up that we need. We then plan on buying a bigger house so we can hopefully expand our little family x
