Me and h2b have been looking for a church to marry in for some while and we either liked the vicar but didnt feel for the church or the other way round. I went to aldeburgh to walk my dog and we thought we would take a sneaky peak inside a church, it was so beautiful it wouldnt need dressing and we just felt right there. So we went along to a service sunday to get a feel for it and we loved it :D so we are meeting with the vicar this week to discuss details. Its £330 including everything like banns and wedding certificates etc we thought as this church was so beautiful that it would cost more as the other plainer run down churches costed more. Im really happpppy i just wanted to share it! :D xxx

Are you in the parish or do you have a family connection with the church? If not the only way you can get married there is if you attend regularly for at least 6 months.

Well done you, thats a big thing out of the way and the price is really reasonable, I found mine but being catholic its a donation and the usual people give is £250 including banns, organist is separate but only £60. :)

Aww well done! That's good news, when I booked mine it made everything seem "real" like it was really happening. It's really exciting, enjoy it... however, expect some negative comments. I got called a hypocrite for getting married in a church that isn't in my parish! Although I think it's complete rubbish myself.. But you do need to attend every sunday for 6 months to enrol on there membership and then they will allow you to marry there. I've been going to the church I'm marrying in for just over a month now and I love it, much better than my parish church so despite the negative comments I got about it and nearly cancelling I'm glad I never because I love it there! Enjoy it hun xx

I'm glad you knew about that then and at least they are letting you do that. Our local church just outside the parish wouldn't let us do it with the attending. Sounds like you have a nice vicar which is always a bonus.

Attend every Sunday is a lot, I reckon if you attend at least twice a month and for all major events (Easter, Pentecost, etc.) it should be enough. My priest is great I literally just moved into this parish and he didn't request us to attend church every Sunday, just on a regular basis. I will try and go at least 3 times a month, but H2B not being religious might only come once a month, and we'll go on a wedding course/session starting October

Yeah that's right. You have to enrol on the church's membership to be allowed to marry there, so in order to do that you have to attend a service every week for 6 months. With my church I have to attend 12 time's in 6 months, I've already been 3 times in a month as I went to an evening service went to watch the church group's play and attended service on a sunday. They like you to attend after the wedding too, which I think is right and I will be doing that. Also, if your not marrying in your own parish church and choose a different church you have to contact your parish church before the wedding as they have to read your banns too and they will give you a certificate to give to the vicar at your wedding rehearsal x

Yeah jo the last church we went to was a high church (which i didnt know what it was at the time) and the rules were so long and the demands were to much so we decided to look elsewhere. Plus my dad was saying (Whether he got it right or not lol) a high church have very long services (i think about 2 hours) and you have the virger, choir, chanting latin etc its very very religious xx
