My H2B father is a Methodist Minister and wants to perform the marriage ceremony. Which my H2B and I both want, I think it would be really lovely. However we have just discovered that he isnt able to do this in the Church I want. (I was christened there, bridesmaid there, sang with the school choir there, and its the prettiest church I know!!) So we have a choice...... have H2B dad marry us but in either a methodist church or a civil ceremony, or stick to my dream church and not have his dad marry us. We really don't want to upset his dad but my H2B wants me to be happy, but I'd always imagined getting married in this church.Either way its about us being married thats important to us not where but we just don't know what to do xxx

It's so hard to please everyone and I know that saying 'do what makes you happy' isn't going to help coz thats what everyone tells me and it just makes it harder! Its your wedding day and the only one you'll ever have so don't have any regrets. think about what means more having that church or pleasing your family x

Thats a good idea Dove, except FIL is in the channels islands and it'd be quite difficult getting people over there!! lol xx

Could you get married by the resident officiant in your church then have you FIL perform the blessing? From what I remember about my first wedding, you can have a non resident vicar perform the ceremony but need a registrar present to make it legal.
So you FIL cant marry you but I believe there is no reason he cant perform the blessing for you. xxx
