I am now Mrs Harrison and I've had the best couple of weeks of my life! Got back from Lanzarote late Sunday evening so thought I'd come tell you all about our day before it's back to work tomorrow :( booo..
Well, it was AMAZING! I woke up at 5:30am at the venue with my bridesmaid (didn't have to be up until 8am..) couldn't get back to sleep, I was buzzing! Went down for breakfast although couldn't eat. Almost ran into hubby on way back to the room, was a very close call haha. Hair & make-up lady arrived at 9:30, did my hair, then my mum's make-up, then my make-up. The flowers arrived during this time too and they really were beautiful, so glad I went for calla lilies & white roses, they were perfect. The photographer arrived at 11:30ish, took some prep photos of me, bridal party & then hubby / best man.
1:25 I went down to see the registrar, who were actually running late. The ceremony was meant to start at 1:30 but was around 10 mins later than this. Pageboy, BMs, myself & my dad waiting to go in was horrendous. Never ever been so nervous in my life! The anticipation was just.. argh! We watched the other guys go, then my dad walked me down the aisle :) it was so breathtaking. Hubby started to cry a little when he saw me! Told me I looked beautiful then the ceremony began! Really surprised I didn't cry whilst saying the vows, although Andy cried throughout :P As he put my ring on my finger, my 3 year old nephew shouted "Oh no! She's nearly married!" Really broke the ice, never giggled so much!
We mingled for a while, then had all the photographs taken - THE SUN WAS SHINING!! That made me SO happy! I've put a few of my favourite pictures on my profile - just a few though, we have hundreds! So go have a nosey if you wish ;) we were announced into the reception room and we sat down (which is really hard in a wedding dress, actually..) We ate, then the speeches were done. THEN I cried. They were fabulous, they really were. My dad said a few lines on behalf of my nan, who was unfortunately too poorly to be there with us, as she has terminal lung cancer :( but I spoke to her on the phone on the morning at least. :)
The evening reception was awesome! We had the official Green Day tribute band play for us, and the lead singer also played our first dance live. We just did the "awkward shuffle".. It was, well, not that awkward actually! I'm so grateful, happy & blessed to have such amazing family & friends who were there with us through the day / evening. :)
I don't think anything will live up to my wedding day, it passed far too quickly :( but I wouldn't change a thing. Loved every minute. So go have a nosey at the photos, and good luck if your wedding day is approaching!
