Now, what to say to the original cake lady?

I had already booked a cake lady from fb, however, we have not signed contracts, & then we won the cake package on here.

I have now sorted contracts with the cake we won.... however I still need a one tier cake for my son who is allergic to milk. I could make this myself, or have the original lady make it for me depending on her costs.

So my question is... What do I say to the original cake lady?

Id be honest with her and just say that you have won a great cake deal but would she be able to do a one tier to your requirements Make sure she knows that it is nothing to do with her or her cakes that your not getting the original cake x

Well my cape arrived today, that was unexpected! I was waiting for something to tell me I owe customs £5.20 before they delivered it... Oh well, Nevermind.... It's also not as long as I expected it to be, I'm 5ft7 and it just about touches the floor! I bought the longest one they had as well!

Tasted the meal we will be having for our wedding today... the veg could have done with a little longer, but other than that it was gorgeous! Was given the go ahead by our kids (boys 4 & 6yrs).

Ordered myself a watch off the bay, for the wedding day for a grand total of £1.98 inc p&p!!! New too! Not a bad bargain!

got more for the bedroom baskets today as well, have decided to only do bedroom baskets rather than bathroom baskets.

Had to have alterations done on my Dress..... Having had operations on my back since buying the dress, my back has changed shape slightly, which means that the dress didnt do up. My grandparents paid for the alterations. I had t have the zip taken out & the lacing extended. The modesty panel was not the correct size now the lacing has been extended & so rather than having a claret modestly panel, its been changed to ivory like the rest of the dress.

I'm really not sure what to think about it, its not how i imagined my dress for the last 5 years that i have had it!

I am also wondering what to do for a STEN party, h2b & I tend to enjoy ourselves more when we are out together, however the best person has put the idea of paintballing in his head.... I would love to go but if i get shot in the back, i will end up bedridden for ages due to my back problems, so am thinking of having a day of it, so paintballing for the guys, SOMETHING for the women, then meet up for the evening.... but at that point, what do we do?

We weren't planning on having a hen or stag, just a few people over the night befoe the wedding, few drinks and bobs ya uncle.

So the question is.... with paintballing for the guys during the day.... what do us girls do during the day? then meet up for something to eat maybe? then what to do in the evening? me & h2b are not clubbers, so what to do?

Perhaps a spa treatment whilst the boy are off paintballing? You could always have a BBQ or something at home rather than going out and then you won't have to have a specific activity planned for the evening, everyone can just relax with too much BBQ food and some drinks.

problem with that is that everytime we plan a bbq, it persists it down... when we dont plan it & just have everything ready on the off chance its usually fine lol

ive looked into the idea of spa treatments but all i can find is over £100pp :(

I like the idea of coming back to the house for the evening for BBQ or buffet or whatever food you all fancy doing together.

As for while the boys are off paintballing... hmmm.... could you do afternoon tea? Or keep an eye out on that discount website for spa treatments in your area? Shopping and lots of coffee breaks? I know you said you aren't a big clubber, but what about a cocktail making session just while they are out paintballing, you don't have to do it and get really drunk? Go see a show? Have a burlesque session together? Salsa lesson?

I have a book on cocktail making. theres not enough of us for burlesque sessions in our area although i do love the idea. h2b wont dance so i will never be able to use the salsa lesson lol and me & my 2 bridesmaids hate shopping lol we are not the shopping type lol im just awkward huh?

I did however mention laser quest to the best person which includes food & 3 games for £14.50 each (3 games is £13 each on its own) so maybe they will decide on that instead at which point we can all go.

I also thought about perfume making.... but its pretty expensive, so am now looking into the idea of buying a kit & doing it at home. even found that Dalimania (my faourite perfume by Salvador Dali) which is no longer being made (the creator died) has certain ingredients, so have found a list of the ingredients so am thinking i might have to make that lol

Laser quest sounds like a good idea as it would mean you could all get involved.... or could you do that with the ladies if the men really want to do paint balling?

Wow the perfume making at home sounds fun too

we can do the cocktail & chocolate making (all kinds of sweets really) at home which we will be doing around the wedding anyway as we will be having a thing the night before due to the amount of people staying the night before the wedding.

OK despite Superman being in hospital due to his nosebleeds & ear infection I have managed to get some stuff done this week...

The lovely Leesa was round yesterday & we took a trip to the craft store to look for some peel offs for the rest of the stationery. We didnt find any but found some on the bay so have ordered them & our cake topper.

In the mean time, we made the rest of the Orders of Service, however due to not being able to find the same peel offs I will be removing the "Order of Service" peel off's from the ones that are already done, & will be replacing them with "Order of the Day" peel off's when they arrive.

We have made the last of the invites & also the RSVP's.

I have alot of card left over (except only a small amount of silver) so I will be making Thank You Cards with the left over card in the same style as the rest of the stationery.

    Today's list is to:
    1. Print 7 Gift list information poems - DONE
    2. print 1 Guest information insert - DONE
    3. write all addresses onto labels for the invites - DONE
    4. hot glue gem back together thats already in the buttonholes to complete the ones in a post above.

Well H2B's Fathers Day gift did not arrive in the post yet so he's getting his a bit late....

I have contacted the photographer to find out when she is available to meet now that she should be back from her college trip, so just awaiting a replying (only sent the message about 5 minutes ago). Then I need to contact the videographers regarding the same thing.

I am just waiting until Friday when I get to have "Auntie Bobbie" (one of my BM's) write the names on the invites (my handwriting is shocking), H2B thinks that having the names on the envelopes will not be enough & that they need to go on the invites aswell just to get his family to realise that it is for the named persons only... so now my almost perfect invites need to be hand written on :(

    Yep

Now just to finish saving for the RTTS Tickets, then I can focus on the food & drink bill lol

Just put my mind to one thing at a time. It doesnt seem so bad that way... I mean I have around £1600 just over to save... thats alot & seems unmanageable, however £140 is manageable, then £468 is manageable... I have found that breaking it down sort of hides the full amount & tricks my mind in to thinking "oh its only a little bit its not so bad" lol

Then I need to hear from you!

I am looking at mixing my centre pieces up a bit. I have some with read & black flowers in jars filled with either red or black water pearls... however... i only have 6 & may need some more so am thinking f doing something a little more "Goth" for the others...

I have been looking for some polystyrene skulls! But I cant find them anywhere, I have checked the usual places such as the bay, the forest, hobby shop, online range..... I'm running out of places to look... I would like to do something like....

    Skulls

well.... having spent over 7years with my h2b having a ponytail (our sons also having ponytails cos they wanna be like their dad)... my h2b has an appointment booked to have his pony tail cut off!

I really don't like the idea at all!!!!

I have NEVER seen him with short hair except in his drivers license which was taken as he was trying to grow it out!

Now what if our kids say they want their hair cut too? With the kids it has always been their choice to have it long like daddy or short like their uncles, they always wanted it long like daddy.... their hair is gorgeous, its long & blonde & the moment they have it all cut properly they will end up having brown hair! It will be heartbreaking for me & knowing my luck I am likely to turn up at school to collect them, forgetting about the hair cut & wondering why some kid is coming up to me instead of my son with long blonde hair!

I am really not looking forward to tomoro at all!

all the peopke in my family start with blonde hair (except my youngest who had jet black hair until it all fell out and grew back blonde) the moment you cut tue hair it starts getting darker. so if you keep cutting it to keep it neat (which we would have to do for school as atm it goes in a ponytail and stays out of their eyes) it will get darker much quicker. it was the same with my hair. i managed to get my hair back to its natural colour about 10years ago but the moment i had it cut again was the moment it went back to brown. its really weird. i still even now have a skunk line in the back of my head which is still blonde & doesnt take ti hair dye very well yet the rest of my hair is now brown (not through dye). does that make sence?

Cutting hair has no bearing on the colour .....as the hair is dead ....hair colour can change naturally as someone grows, my mother had blonde hair as a child and now it's brown...my daughter had blonde hair at birth and now at 18 it's still blonde , both have had hair cuts !!

Hair colour changes naturally not through cutting it...
It's his hair at the end of the day and if he wants a change then it's up to him- would like it if you were told not to change your hair?

oh, dont get me wrong..... its his decision & i have not stopped that.... its just.... well... ODD lol

I have always had a thing for men with long hair, until this evening i have not seen him with short hair.... its weird....

He had a shower & then came back downstairs a couple of hours ago.... I looked towards the bottom of the stairs & had to do a double take... even our mate clenched his fist ready to swing cos he didnt recognise him (note:all our friends know eachother, even if it is only slightly... & they all know no one comes in the house that they probably havent met... )

Eldest already wants his hair cut now..... purely cos daddy's hair has been cut! Youngest still wants long hair though

When i get the chance to take a pic i will show you the "After" shot lol.
