    Hey Katya,

Sorry if this has been asked or you've mentioned it, but how did you go about securing a college student for your videography? I am dying to book one up, but they're so expensive for the style we want (vintage cinematic style), and this could be a great option!

PS, Glad you found your ring. I once took off a £500 watch an ex gave me, and lost it. I still die inside when I think about it! eeeeeek!!!

Sorry hun I have only just seen your message.

I have not secured one yet, however, if you call your local college, ask to speak with the videography, or filming department, ask you speak with the head of that department, let them know that you would like a student to video/photograph your wedding. Tell them you are willing for them to use your wedding video as part of their portfolio, will pay for their time & whether or not you would provie them with a meal or not, all you require is that they turn up on time, film the parts agreed between you & them, and do what they need to do to have it put on disc, you would like them to ask their students to find out who would be interested in an opportunity like this. Leave your name & contact details & request that they pass them on to any student who would be interested so that you may further discuss your requirements. give them a time limit to contact you by.

When they contact you, discuss all your requirements, ask to see some of their work (remembering that they probably have not filmed a wedding before), come to an agreement & write all of the agreement down, draw up a contract stating the names of you, your partner & the student, the timings, the specific parts you want filmed as a minimum, what you have agreed that you will provide them (how much money, if you are providing a meal etc), what they will provide (video, stills, disc, print offs etc) the wedding date & time, the venue/s, the time the finished product is due. have all three of you sign the contract.

Ok, so hopefully we will sell the van tomorrow, guy was supposed to come tonight but hes been held up so has rearranged for tomorrow. In the mean time h2b is going to help a mate fix their brakes then our mate will take h2b to go get his new Landy! Then its all go with the saving for the wedding! I also have just realised I got my dates slightly wrong, & therefore should have all the money one week before all the dates mentioned! woohoo!

Wedding Planning is so frustrating with a h2b who has had 6 years to decide on a best person & still hasnt made a decision. He has admitted his choice is between two friends, one female that hes known since school, we dont see her very often but try to see her and her wife as often as possible. Or our friend Charlie who we've known for about 3 years but we see weekly. personally i dont know who he should choose. i have suggested having one as his witness & the other give a speech, but if he does that he needs to let me know so i can buy another tie to match & make another button hole. but all he is saying is "I'll let you know yeh" but still nothing, hes had 6years already! grrrr

I'm stuck for what to choose for which occasion.
I have ideas (& some of these ideas I have or are on their way)

    I have:
    1. Leather wallet with coin slots (h2b has been after one for forever but most wallets dont have anywhere to put the coins)
    2. Jar full of bubblegum sour bottles (not got yet but jar will later be used for candy cart)
    3. Boudior photo with lyrics of the song I am recording to walk down the aisle to (a cover of train's marry me)

I'm not sure which to choose for Valentines & which to choose for our Anniversary.

would appreciate some help choosing please. TIA

    Valentines:
    1. Heart shaped chocolates (did a trial run last night h2b loves them - he ate the whole lot!)
    2. Wallet (thats hes been after for a while)

    Anniversary:
    1. Jar full of bubblegum sour bottles
    2. Boudior lyric photo of the song i am recording to walk down the aisle to - as a symbol of it being 1 year tll we get married.

    Wedding day:
all gifts as explained in previous posts plus
lyric photo of us & our first dance song printed on canvas as per the photo in this post

not until april as we cant do them until the end of March anyway. Our date is March 25th. So we are looking at doing the notices April/May time. But hes been putting the wedding off for so long (his idea of engagement is that it shows commitment, shows that hes sticking by me, that hes not going anywhere - which i like & agree with; however his idea of getting married is that its an expensive piece of paper), that its not all that real until hes now agreed to put in our notices

Well it looks like the choice is going to be easier for h2b now, my BM Lovely Leesa, asked him if he had chosen a best man yet, this was in front of one of his options (Charlie), we all got to talking & Charlie asked who the options were so we told him outright... You or Steph, well Charlie was loving the fact he was in the line up for it & then mentioned "I can't do a speech, I will slip up somewhere along the line, I will swear, mention god or some stupid stuff neither of your families would need to hear about, so i can't do a speech"

knowing the sorts of things that he would mention we all ended up laughing, & much as h2b still has not come to a decision yet, it looks like Steph will be the "Best Person" & Charlie, the witness. This will make Steph happy.... as she has already (a few years ago) made her arguement as to why she should be Best Person lol

Now just to get h2b to agree to this....

    HE AGREED!!!!

Now we have all of our wedding party, all I need to do is write something up about Steph to go in our OOS ....I have a little about each Bridesmaid & both of our sons (pageboys/ring holders) so there is just an empty gap where the Best Persons paragraph should be....

    BM's
    Lovely Leesa
    Auntie Bobbie

    Pageboys:
    Mcqueen
    Superman

    Best Person:
    Steph

    Witnesses:
    Charlie
(I am yet to find out if my longest friend can make it, won't know until we send the invites/STD's to find out if he can get the time off work & come over from whatever country he is currently living in - but I hope he can be there as I've known him for 22 years!)

WOW after an entire day of trying to find contact details for someone my h2b knows via car forum.... I found him a police spec car! The car will turn up, I will tell someone to look out for the car & start filming, they will then tell my h2b that the police hve arrived and are asking for him. They will film his reaction. He will be really annoyed (he hates police), then he will see who it is & be much happier, will be a lovely surprise! The guy in question is also really excited & is going to try to get permission to drive to the wedding without having to cover up his lights etc. He has agreed to keep it a secret from my h2b. I really cant wait & hes only charging me the fuel cost!

i think so yes hun, this is part of the email i received....

    Documents
When giving notice of marriage, each party will need to produce the following documents at the time of giving notice. Documents must be originals; photocopies are not acceptable. Any documents in a foreign language must be accompanied by a translation into English carried out by a third party. You will need to provide the name and address of the person who has carried out the translation. Please note that your notice/s cannot be taken if you do not bring the required documents with you to your notice appointment.

Current Passport or (in the case of UK citizens only) full UK birth certificate
British citizens born after 1 January 1983 who do not possess a current passport must provide their parents' full birth certificates as well as their own
Proof of your current address in the UK (eg UK driving licence, Council Tax bill, utility bill or bank/building society statement).
For persons previously married or in a civil partnership, either the decree absolute bearing the court seal or the dissolution of civil partnership document. If the divorce/dissolution took place in a foreign country the original document(s) should be produced, together with a certified translation if necessary.
For widowed persons and surviving civil partners, the marriage/civil partnership certificate and death certificate of the former spouse/civil partner.
Non-EEA persons under military orders must produce their original military orders.
Persons aged between 16 and 17 years of age must submit written consent from the appropriate parent(s)/guardian(s)/authority. Registration Officers have forms for this purpose.

OK so h2b is not happy about having to wear a suit, he claims they are uncomfortable, "suits" (the people that wear them & drive stupidly expensive cars offensively also know as pen pushers) are *insert naughty word here*... well today....

I wake him up with promises of bedroom fun, however he has to do one thing for me first... (hehe).... so this "one thing" was to go to the blue supermarket & try on a suit jacket so i know what size he needs so i can order one....

    Trousers £9...
(This is where im expecting to have to pay £20 for a jacket)..... Jacket.... £12 down from £20!!!!

So h2b's suit is costing a grand total of £21!!!!

Just had a lovely phone call with my grandparents.... they asked how the wedding plans are going & if we are going to tell them a date yet, I told them I have found a 3 tier cake usually costing £250 plus, but have been quoted £100 fr it to all be done using ingredients that my son can have.... the next thing I know my nanny (whos not feeling well & will randomly say "hang on a minute, then come back a few minutes later") told me to "hang on a minute", few minutes later she came back & said "just spoken to grandad, we'll pay for it" so they are paying for my cake plus a little extra pounds.

my mum wouldnt let me have so much as a kitten heel unless i could walk perfectly on a curb stone without miss balancing or looking down, or using my arms to balance. I had to be able to walk 3 miles like this before i got kitten heels. lol

It also helps that i used to dance, i started out with line dancing in 3inch heeled boots, then started a diploma in performing arts and danced in heels such as stillettos. Believe it or not, wearing heels is better for your posture so if you have a bad back like i do, then you are better off wearing heels, GP's won't agree with this, however my back surgeon does agree.

There is no way i could get married if my amazing family and friends hadn't offered to help with things! They're doing them as wedding gifts, so to say thank you to each of them, we will get them a small gift each! It's the least we can do!

WOW Wedding Wise I am having an amazing week!

    H2B's suit for £21
    Free Cake!

Then a few days ago I tried ordering some business cards that I had set up to use as Save The Dates, however the paypal link was not working at the checkout, would send me to sign into my paypal account to authourise the payment, as it should, then popped up stating the payment could not be sent & that no money had been taken, well I emailed the company, no reply, so lastnight I sent them a message on their FB page, this morning I get a code for free delivery & would not need to make any payment... Well I would have had to make payment as I was trying to pay for blank undersides for the cards.... so having informed them of this I then get a message to state they had adjusted the code to include the blank backs for me.... So they became FREE!!! LOVE IT!!!

    FUMING!!!!

I found some reviews last night about my venue, there are 3 reviews by 3 different people, within minutes of each other, all about the same event. So this morning I called my venue to see what they had to say having told them i had seen some negative reviews. turns out the venue is no longer taking bookings, well i was already booked i just havent paid anything, all bookings have been cancelled.

So now I am going to have to find a different venue! It was such a good price at £160 for the entire building for the entire day, which gave me a chance to set up in the morning.

Well I have had a very bad weekend....

H2B's car was vandalised, we discovered spray paint all over the drivers side & drivers side of the windscreen & the entire rear window. We have only had the car 1 month! Police wont do anything about it as apparently it doesnt come under "Criminal Damage" as its not permanent (the paint on the windows & metal came off, however the bits on the plastic doesnt, also they tried to steal the car as they bent the door near the handle & scratched it obviously where a crow bar was used - so how thats not permanent i'll never know!) Regardless to say I'm pissed off about it!

Then today I went to my grandparents to try my dress on.... it doesnt do up... the result... (please excuse my back flab)
    SDC15552.JPG
    SDC15552.JPG

So after contacting a seamstress this would cost me £40-£60 to change it from a zip at the bottom, to fully lace up.

So after all of this bad luck... the last thing I was expecting was a call from none other but UKBRIDE, to inform me that I WON THE POWER USER MONTHLY PRIZE!!!!

    1 x 5 tier cake
    150 x cupcakes
    1 x Candy Buffet

So needed this bit of good luck.... everything that has annoyed me today since I have just said.... "Its ok... I WON A CAKE" its great!!! Thanks UKBRIDE!!!!!

thank you ladies, now i just need to speak with them (which i will try doing tomorrow), regarding my sons food allergy & hope they are happy to swap the ingredients for me. If they can, I will need to contact the company who have sent me contracts for the cake I was planning on getting to explain the win :-/ I have to admit I'm not looking forward to telling her as we got quite friendly over the last few weeks. But never mind...

Rather than paying for the cake my grandparents are now paying for my alterations on my dress instead.

I was so happy when I got the email saying who won and I recognised you :) (obviously well jealous as well lol but happy for you)

I wouldn't worry, surely she'll understand how you're not going to turn down a free cake-especially an amazing 5 tier one plus extra's ;)

    Congrats hun

Congratulations on the cake Katya, but such a shame about the car. Surely vandalism is against the law? I think you've got the same dress as me, except mine is in champagne. Is it Alfred Angelo?
