Did you ever have to e-mail the company you bought your veil from? If you did, did they take long to get back to you?

ok i emailed them asking i they can colour match to my dress for the red ribbon edging. they replied the following day. but i also found calling them to be very easy as well. I called them stating i was placing an order & would like the edging to be colour matched. I sent them a piece of ribbon to show the colour it needed to be. they called me to inform me it had arrived & told me they had the colour i needed. a little later (cant remember how long) it arrived. i emailed them in 2011, but didnt place my order until 2013

try giving them a call, they were lovely when i dealt with them

I forgot to add that I need to pin the silk pocket hankies to the suits too & also to buy my youngest some new shoes as he has wrecked his school shoes already!

Just ordered more ink in order to reprint the orders of the day. Hopefully they will arrive in time to print some little activity books for the sten do..... Cant go wrong with them if i buy a few minitures as prizes lol

Venue has now confirmed that the paperwork i sent them is all ok for them!

H2B has it so easy!

April - He can't dye my hair... I have to be around for that lol which means I need the time lol. He doesnt have time to pop to a post office to buy stamps to send the thank yous during work. Same with updated version of vows. Regarding paying the venue... I have the money but he is the driver so at some point (probably tomoro night) he will have to drive me there to pay lol. Printer paper can be bought during the weekly food shop (tomoro night). Regarding everything else... nope he cant be trusted or its crafty work such as making the belts or gift bags etc.... & he's useless at crafty work. I don't want him near my new printer because he was insistant that the old one had 2 cartridges.... he even argued with me about it in curries when it actually had only one place for cartridges to go! He can not be trusted near the printer lol

Yes have been for a few years now, but don't mention it often on here due to the rules etc. But its so much less stressful doing someone elses rather than my own lol

Part 1:

OK, So it was our STEN DO yesterday.... hmm... what to say about it....

Paintballing was great fun, although I went blind twice because my mask steamed up to the point I couldn't see my paintball gun.... Had to listen out for a voice I recognised... heard the female marshall & shouted "LADY MARSHALL LADY MARSHALL" (I was laying behind a barrier propped up on a tree at this point) she came over & had to take my hand & escort me to the safest closest place to sort my mask out.... Then the second time was right before we left & our witness was not too far infront, my mask steamed up again so shouted "Charlie I'm blind again" & just as he turned to come back for me the main marshall had already stuck his hand out for me to guide me back to the safe point. H2B was rather annoyed at the start because his paintball guns weren't firing, but he soon got into it once he found a decent gun! I got shot in the b00b which left a big red mark, however theres not even a mark today... I also got shot in the calf (which are nothing but solid muscle) which has left a lovely bruise but it doesnt hurt. H2B got shot in the back & only has a small bruise. Our Best Person got shot in the legs quite badly & ended up sitting the last game out! There was a stag party there too (We didnt tell the paintballing guys that we were on a sten do) & they picked on the groom quite badly! they had points where the groom was a terroist & his team had to get him into the church whilst we were defending, then the groom got put on our team & had his gun taken away whilst we snuck him into the church (this was the time the lady marshall escorted a blind me away from the game zone!) there were other points where the stag party had to (on the first whistle) WALK up hill away from the rest of us (70 ish including the stag party) the second whistle the rest of us started firing then the third whistle stop firing & walking. Then they had to walk back with us firing at them! So glad we didnt tell the paintball guys we were on a "Sten Do"!!! All in all the morning was great! It was really enjoyable! We all had a great time!

Then it was time to go t3sc0s to buy pizza for dinner.... so we all headed that way, got loads of alcohol, pizza etc. Then headed back to ours. Once we got to ours Lovely Leesa helped me to sort the kitchen out & label everyones drinks as a few people were saying that they cant afford to be sharing the alcohol with people due to financial reasons & so we felt name labels on every bottle/can was the only way to go so that if someone wanted to try a shot of something they had not tried before then they would be able to know which person to ask. Then we got onto cooking the pizza for everyone else....

I made one simple request.... No one is to do a shot until everyone had finished eating so that we had something in our stomach so that no one throws up all over my house... A request that I feel was not unreasonable! Well our Best Person was already fairly drunk from lager & decided to start b!tch!ng that I was being a "buzz kill" both to my face & in a room I was not in when she was doing so. My H2B had not noticed that I was doing everything & was quite "happy" to say the least. One of our friends whom was unable to join us for paintballing noticed how stressed I was & started handing me drinks stating that he is my b!tch for the night & will also come back in the morning to help with the clean up! He had a chat with myself & H2B so that H2B knew what was going on. H2B stated that we should have a chat with the Best Person, but to be honest, I couldn't be bothered with the hassle, I was already not in the best of moods. My brother decided he was going to start complaining that the house was "freezing" despite the heating being on & at least 9 bodies in one room most of the time! He decided rather than pizza he wanted a takeout but wasnt ordering enough for delivery so a few people ordered a few small items just to help him reach the delivery minimum spend. When he wanted to order I needed a wee & told him I would order for him after, he then mumbled "oh for f**k sake". He then decided that he was going to bed at 8:50pm!

Two friends that we havent seen for a fair while also turned up for the evening but they werent drinking as they were driving about 40miles home that night. But "Uncle Pie" (a long term mutual friend that we nicknamed) had nothing but calls from his girlfriend every 20 minutes asking him how long hes going to be... which was obviously annoying him as she had known about this for months! So they ended up leaving earlier than planned!

We had a short power cut, then once the lights were back on the street lights went out too!

Our friend that said he would help out, get us drinks (& when everyone else asked me to get them a drink all I had to do was tell him to do it....) well he had given me 2 shots of Aftershock then 2 ameretto & cokes..... well.. he was the only one in the kitchen..... he then came out the kitchen stated he was just needing to sort something quickly then promptly left... a few hours later I was in such a foul mood due to the b!tching & my back hurting that I started to clean up after everyone. I went to put something in the bin (no one had been in the kitchen alone since our friend left) to find that someone had thrown up in the bin.... our witness jumped straight on it & took the bin out to the wheelie bins etc, Lovely Leesa cleaned the bin itself to get rid of the vomit smell. We can only assume it was our friend who had left in a hurry! I'm not mad that he threw up, in fact if anything I'm glad he made it to the bin rather than all over my kitchen tops or floor.. I'm more annoyed that he didnt have the decentcy to say "I'm really sorry guys, I've thrown up in the bin, I'm gonna throw up again so I'm heading home before I do" (he lives 6 doors down the road) so that we at least knew so we could take care of it straight away.

Sorry for the very in depth description of the night but I am using this thread as a way to keep you up to date but also a way to keep track of everything so that we have a record of the entire process, we will be copy pasting to a word document when this thread is finished & printing off for our memories box rather than having to write it up twice!

Wow Katya, I cant deal with other being sick either when ds is sick OH has to deal with him.

I hope you have managed to calm down its rubbish when things like that dont go to plan. All I can say is learn from it and move on dont let it taint everything else.

And I also write loads in my planning diary so that Its a memory.

Sounds like a awful evening at yours .. are they not used to drinking at all , hence why you said at the beginning don't to shots until all have eaten as don't want people being sick all over your house? .. to be honest though. if you bought Aftershock to drink , that is usually what happens to people.. glad to hear they ok though after choking, could of been a lot worse if no-one had been there and they didn't wake up.. hope you not going to have aftershock at your wedding !! If not happy with best person maybe have a chat with her and say how you feel, better to say something rather than let it bubble under the skin.. i know you say she was asking you for massages and you thought hold on have roles been reversed, sounds as though you think it should be her offering you massages because you are the bride .. but i don't think being a best person, means they should be offering you massages and running around after you .. its not a boss and a employer situation. You have chosen that person because you love them and want them to play a role in your special day ? That's my opinion anyway, i have a bridal crew but im not expecting them all to run around after me because im the bride.. but hope you feeling ok today about things, sorry to hear you have had a shit Sten..and have hated planning your wedding :( hope you take it easy and have a stress free time for next 4 weeks !!

Sorry to say it but I think that's probably the problem though hun, you had your stag and hen do in your own home . its hard then to not "DO everything" if i asked everyone round to my house for a party e.t.c i would be the one to auomatically put the pizzas in oven and play the part of Host , as i would normally do because its something i would naturally do . If people though started saying get me this get me that, you have every right to say, what am i , your skivvy... get it yourself .. and that's what i would do if i felt like that. Its a shame your best people , witness e.t.c hadn't planned for your Sten night to be at one of their houses , that would of been the best thing as like you say otherwise your the host all evening and have to clean up after everyone.. and on your stag/hen you shouldnt be the one throwing the party and having to clean up after everyone.. Sounds like they just treated it as another night at your house rather than seeing it as your stag and hen do and should be making sure your having a good time .. and yes totally reasonable to say not to drink until after eaten.. :)

the problem is, in cambs we are the only ones that dont live with parents.... in mk they all have their own homes but paintballing was about 20 mins from ours.... so made more sense for it to be here. The thing is when they come round they get themselves drinks, if they are going to get themselves something they will offer to get us something. If they have brought food round here they cook it themselves... so why should saturday have been any different? I mean the way we are as a couple, people walk into our home shout hello & have done, they make themselves at home because we have said once youve been here once thats it you dont get treated like a guest anymore you need to feel comfy around us enough to get your own cuppa! I just dont understand why saturday should have been any different? I'm not their skivvy normally so I shouldnt have been then. I mean we even have guests over for dinner.... when they decide they want to cook for us we get kicked out of our kitchen & they cook us dinner as well as themselves, that way they are not in their parents way.... thats just the way we are & we have known most of these people for 8yrs or more.... so its not like they have to get used to the way we are anymore... that was over a long time ago.

It was simply the fact that they were too bloomin lazy! Lovely Leesa bless her was clearing up to get everything ready, took the bins out so they were fresh bags and everything (i was busy clearing other bits) & she helped clear up at the end including h2b's ickyness but thats cos shes lovely.... the rest (other than witness) were just plain lazy & treating me in a completely different way than they normally do but in the worst way... im never going to allow that again, next time they get my boot up their backsides as i kick them out i think.

This is why I'm so annoyed.... As a couple we are extremely laid back... I mean we have a friend "Auntie Bobbie" she is one of my BM's, when she stays over she shares the bed with us (it all started about 4/5 years ago when my cousin was creeping her out & didnt want to worry about my cousin coming down to her in the middle of the night as he just kept staring at her, so as a joke we told her she could always share the bed with us... she did, has done ever since). Anyway both me & her are bi, but h2b knows that nothing will ever happen & is perfectly happy to leave us sleeping when he goes to work... just like i know i can get up & leave them sleeping & nothing will happen, the 3 of us have complete trust in each other to never break those boundaries. So when h2b woke up Sunday morning to find Lovely Leesa in bed with me he KNOWS nothing would have happened. We are both extremely trusting in that sense. I would be a bit concerned if it wasnt either of those two as we have had those boudaries & a flirty relationship with leesa & bobbie since we met, we all have different boundries & we all abide by them. so i would be rather concerned if it was anyone other than those two & i wouldnt have shared the bed with our best person even if we were having the best of days because we dont have the same sort of relationship with her as we do with these two... but its good to know we all trust eachother in that respect. But what im trying to say is that we are very open people, we are very laid back people! its not like we were being "out of the norm" for us... but some of them, best person included were just so rude & disrespectful for no reason what so ever... I certainly didnt deserve the ill treatment i received that night. At least h2b had a good night (until the end) so i feel a bit better knowing he enjoyed himself at least. I guess now im just hoping lovely leesa has something up her sleeve to help me forget about that night... shes usually pretty good... if im not feeling great or im annoyed she will head round with cake mix so we bake & have a bit of a pamper etc... heres to hoping lol...

Just ordered some flowers for bm's as I no longer like the ones I made since seeing the bouquet I ordered for myself! £16.90 later & they should both be here between Friday & Monday.
