I wrote on my social networking site that I was having the same hair as the Duchess of Cambridge (Kate Middleton) for my wedding hair. I'm so amused by this I made the comment "We must have good taste." My so called friend who is mean't to be coming to my reception said "debatable" about the good taste comment. So I am a little hurt at the moment. Am I over reacting??

You may well be as she could be saying it as a joke. Its so easy to mistake the way people are saying things when they type them. I would talk to her about it and find out what she really meant by it.

It depends on what your friend is like, is she sarcastic normally or a strange sense of humour? I guess the fact that she didn't put "kidding" or "lol" at the end has left you feeling offended. I always find that comments in text messages and on fb etc. can be taken out of context as you can't hear their voice and tell if they are joking or not. Either way though it was tactless and unkind for her to write that, and I would ask her what she means, otherwise it could play on your mind. xx

It wasn't a joke she said coz she hates Kate Middleton but I don't think that is a reason to say what I want is awful
That's just her opinion, ignore her honey. She's obviously not going to like anything Kate chose if she doesn't like Kate herself so her opinion is redundant! Your hair will look fab, you like it and your h2b will like it and that's the most important thing! :)

Well if she doesn't like Kate, doesn't that partly explain the comment? Perhaps she is saying "debatable" to your comment of you *both* having good taste - so she could be indicating she thinks it's debatable that Kate has good taste, rather than you?

Oh well I think that was nasty of her, just because she doesn't like her doesn't mean she has to upset you in the process and effectively slag off the hairstyle you want. Well I think Kates hair was very elegant and pretty and you will look lovely. x

I choose it ages ago I thought it was ironic and the reasoning behind it was the same. It got one of my other friends so angry though and that is what upset me the most

What on earth did she get angry about though, absolutely pathetic! Some people should just keep their mouth shut if they have nothing nice to say. Planning a wedding is stressful enough with choosing a hairstyle one of the top stress factors and they should take that into consideration when talking! :) x

at the end of the day it is just a hair style - had it been on anyone else would there have been a problem with it then? Probably not! Just ignore it hunni and I am sure of you have a trial done and get it like that your hair will look gorgeous all the same. Personally I liked how Katherine Middleton had her hair so why shouldn't you copy something if you like it too. I like some of J-Lo's hair dos but that doesn't make me a latino b***h or have bad taste because i thought an updo looked good enough for me to try out
Some people can be petty - i just hope you do what you want as its your day at the end of it all xxx

Thank you ladies. I'm stressing enough as it is. I think she is just a bit jealous because I'm getting married first and she has to wait. She has done nothing but make snide comments since I started planning my wedding 18 months ago

she will get her time to revel in how happy she is. Can you not just tell her how it is making you feel and let her know that you will be happy for her and excited about all the planning she has and what she wants for her big day when it draws closer? some people just like to hear something about themselves when they are stressed or have lots to think about too. I am sure it will all go well for you and i hope she either moves on from making narky remarks or you find it easier to ignore her. Either way your big day will be amazing for you so don't let anyone elses opinions spoil it because you will only get one big day with your man so make it happy and special and sod what every one else thinks! xxx

I have done a million times I've even helped her begin her planning and then she started getting rude out of the blue. I don't know what changed but hey ho I'll just accept that according to her my whole wedding will be awful
