    Hi Ladies,

Firstly I do apologise if this is in the wrong category, I just wanted to warn you all so you don't fall victim to the scam that nearly got me.

So I previously brought a dress thinking it was the one and after finding the actual one I am now in the process of selling the other dress so last night I put the dress up on both the bay of e and gumtr33. Within an hour i received a notification text from the tr33 with a person asking about the dress. They wanted to know if it was available and the best price for it. So after a while emailing the person we agreed a price and they said they would pay through paypa1 and set up an agent to collect the item from me. The I received authentic looking email to say the money was in hold until I had sent the documents that the courier had received 400 GBP from me through m0n3ygram to some address in America.

So last night left it alone with every intention of transferring the money today on my lunch break but I received a rather vile email from the supposed buyer threatening legal action as I had gone quiet, a this point I was a little worried reassured them they would have all the proof shortly and I was going to a post office to make sure it was done correctly. Something wasn't quiet right at this point so phoned paypa1 and g00gl3d and found out it was a scam to get money off me.

So ladies if you do choose to sell you dress or any item after the wedding please bare this is mind should you received anything like this. Also apologies to the Moderators if this isn't allowed I have tried to cover up names or excluded them all together but would really hate to see it happen.

Just glad I realised before it was too late otherwise I would have been 400 out of pocket. Good luck for your wedding day this week Stephanie, wishing you the best possible day and more xx

I'm currently selling the first dress I purchased and have it advertised on 4 different sites. Have received numerous bogus requests for my dress. General rule of thumb, if they claim to need it in a hurry, buying on behalf of a family member, want to pay via ***p@yp@1 and send a courier to collect or even offer more money then ignore and report them. I have expressed on my ads that i won't post my dress and that it is a CASH on collection sale only and no time wasters please. This has stopped them for now.
Thank goodness you got a bad feeling.

So today I received this email via one of the sites I am selling my dress on:

"I got your sale toward the item u posted for sell and I will like to know if the item is still available for sale do you accept P@yp@l as payment you can email me here....."

Note the poor grammar and lack of punctuation. This is almost certainly someone trying to scam me. I will reply and simply say "Thank you for your interest but if you're trying to scam me then don't bother to reply" I'm 100% certain I won't hear from them again. Shall also report them to the website.

Please ladies do ensure you are wary with any request you receive. These people ultimately want your P@yp@l account details so they can use them to shop online at your expense. They aren't interested in your dress. If you choose to accept a PP payment then it should be you sending them an invoice not the other way around. Never type your password into anything unless you are 100% confident it's genuine.
Safest way to sell your dress is to have them collect and pay cash or have them send a chq and make sure it clears before you post the dress.

Pleased to say I have a lady coming to see mine this Friday so fingers crossed for a sale :)

This is one of the oldest scams out there. it applies to selling anything online not just wedding dresses.
I was once asked to arrange shipping for a 30 year old, 7.5 ton lorry to canada and they would pay me etc.
The first give away is poor grammar, the second give away is asking for "best price", the 3rd is using moneygram, the fourth is the sob story they normaly give you if you dig and saying thier paypal isnt working.
your money should always be in your account before you post it!

A friend of mine saw an ad looking for a wedding dress cheap and quick as her daughter was ill, as she is getting divorced she gave the woman her dress, long story short another friend spotted it being sold by the woman online, apparently this is also a scam doing the rounds. x
