Ah Nicola, i was married before and i was exactly the same, i was terrified! even right up to standing at church doors i was nearly crying with fear, but once the music started i put on a huge smile...then my dad started cracking jokes to me as we started walking..he even said half way down aisle come on lets run and make em giggle (i didnt ofc) but he took my mind of it all and it was a breeze after that...
You will look beautiful and draw gasps from everyone enjoy it!! xx

Before you set off take a deep breath in. Lift your collar bone up and out and feel your shoulder blades relax down and closer together. Hold your head as if you've got a piece of string right on the top of it. You'll look absolutely fabulous and it honestly relaxes you. Smile and you're there. I know it's not that simple but just try practising that x

I'm exactly the same. I am really shy and quiet and the thought of walking down the aisle, taking pics and talking to people all day scares the life out of me!! I was asking someone the other day if it would be silly to carry my 2 yr old (will be 4 by then) down the aisle with me to hide behind!!

i was singing at my local mencap with two others and they have us walk down to the front before we sing and that was the most nerve wracking experience and they all love us cos we sing their favourite songs!! and it made me think if i was this scared in front of poeple doing something as unimportant as singing what will i be like walking down the aisle knowing all eyes are on me n that i have to speak very important words!! argh am sooo scared and iv got ages yet!!!!!!!!

I would imagine that being in your dress, being pampered and looked after plus all dolled up with hair and make up, you'll look amazing, enjoy the attention and remember that the people there are looking at you because you look fit! lol ;)

Can't wait until the day I become Mrs. Johnson :)

You could 'practice' on a day when you're feeling relaxed and happy - maybe it will rub off.

Get the music you are going to use and play it and get used to it. Try walking in your heels. Do a few silly walks just to make it less serious.

On the day, look at the individual faces - peope you love and who love you.

Its an old trick but it works for me when i am giving speeches or presenting at work, imagine that the whole audience are just wearing their underware, and taht they look silly, other wise try to remember that all the people there are there to see how wonderful you look, so hold your head up smile and be proud, its your big day, there are plenty of otherthings to worry about.

Hi Nicola, First of all congratulations and welcome in, I too have been married before and was absolutely petrified at the thought of walking down the aisle, you feel like the walk is going to take forever, but just think of your h2b and concentrate on him while you take slow steady steps towards him, I put virtual blinkers on and looked dead ahead of me as thought i was going to fall to pieces if anyone looked at me. : ) You will be fine, you will look beautiful. Nothing to worry about honest. : ) If it was that bad would we put ourselves through it again. : ) x

Even though I have to admit that I am crapping my pants, in case I fall or the fact that my big butt will touch each sides of the pews and my dad wont fit with me. I cant wait and hope that I go slow enough to enjoy every single nano- second of the journey.

i'm not looking forward to being looked at either !! I hate getting dressed up and going out lol x Hate having my photo taken, i take the photos i'm never in them !
I'm also struggling with not being in charge on the day, I won't have time to go to venue to check if everything is where it should be, people won't let me go and deliver things there etc, i even suggested getting a stand in bride, so i can run around and be in control lol x
