Hey girls, i was wondering what music everyone is walking down the aisle to. I was thinking of a choice of the following three:
Ave Maria - always loved but my sister had this last year for her wedding

Jose Gonzalas, heartbeats - Beautiful song but not traditional

Desree, Kissing you - Loved this song ever since watching Romeo and Juliet and still brings a tear to my eye!

What are you thoughts girls? I'd love to hear what you're doing too! :) xx

If your getting married in a church, some of them won't allow non religious music. The opposite is true if you are having a civil ceremony, I think.

I love the Desree song though!

We are still debating it, think we are going to stick to classical music as we can't seem to find anything appropriate ( except for our first dance song) for us...

However h2b wants 'you do something to me' by Paul Weller, which is a nice song but about unobtainable love, so probably not appropriate.

Yea Im getting married in a chapel-im allowed non religious music before the ceremony and after (i.e signing of register) but only if its instrumental. During the ceremony I have to have hymns. Not sure what I will have for walking down the aisle alothough I LOVE canon in d!!x

Oh I do too, there are sooooo many versions of it, we have one with foreign singing on that we might use, need to get the lyrics translated though in case it is totally inappropriate lol! Xx

I don't know whether we are doing it at a church or in a hotel yet but I have always loved the song that Ross and whats-her-name walked into for their London Wedding in Friends (Not Rachel - the girl from cold feet - can't think of her name). I don't know what the song is called or anything so I have some research to do.

I have a friend who walked in to Suddenly - the song Scott and Kylie were married to in Neighbours (If anyone is old enough to remember that?) by Angry Anderson. Very cheesey but very appropriate at the time. I loved that but I don't think half my guests would get it xx

1 date set. I will finally become Mrs A in December 2013!

I know how sad this is going to sound hahaha.... but I'm walking down the aisle to a theme from my favourite video game

I wanted one of the boys friends to play it on guitar, for some reason, i had it in my head that he could play, but i confused him with someone else

So Ive told him he needs to learn

    Hi everyone!

I run a string quartet and I have never had an issue playing non-religious music in a church. @Hayley Elizabeth, your songchoices sound great. The Desr'ee one is beautiful and a number of brides have had it.

Just beware that if you are getting married in a secular venue (like me...eventually!) you generally can't have any religious music e.g. Ave Maria, Jesu Joy etc.

Some registrars will allow it, as it's instrumental only, but some will just be plain awkward!

Also, if you are booking live musicians for your ceremony / drinks reception etc. DO NOT go through an agency! The musicians will normally get the same fee whether you book them through an agent or not - the difference is that you'll be paying a couple of hundred pounds extra for them to make a phone call to the group organiser. Believe me! (In my experience of working through agencies anyway.)

@Definatelymaybe The song Emily walked into her wedding with Ross in Friends was "Here Comes The Bride" by Wagner, but done in a celtic style.

    Hope this is helpful!

We are having 'over the rainbow' by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole as I enter and walk down the aisle. Ash suggested the song over the weekend and I found the version when trying to find a non wizard of oz version.

It is an absolutely astounding version and is so light and happy (also means we have kinda picked our theme.. YAY!)

Velcro- We're having some Final Fantasy music while guests are arriving/during signing of the register, we've not really decided on specifics yet but we had to get it in there :)

We're having Nothing But Love by Mr Big. We're getting married in a registry office so no worries of the music not being allowed. It starts off quite classical and then gets a bit 'rocky' towards the middle. Very 'us'.
