    Hi everyone,

Right, i am having a vintage theme. i'm mainly concentrating on the details at the moment - such as - my favours will be mismatched teacups and saucers with a cream artificial rose inside. they will also have a brown label style tag tied off the handle with brown string and place names printed (in typewriter font) on one side and a two line poem type thing on the other side thanking them for coming etc.

BUT i am really undecided with the centrepieces - originally i thought of jugs/pitchers filled with flowers or teapots with flowers but with the jugs i thought they might be more expensive to buy and for the teapots i thought people might think that we're obssessed with tea or something!! (i know birdcages are vintagey but my sister just got married and had them so dont want the same) SOOO ive found these pics:(sorry i dont know how to get the actual pics on)

i thought i could mismatch centrepeices too - put some flowers in a goldfish bowl with the lace edging around the top and some in the glass cut vases which i can get from car boot/charity shops - what are peaoples thoughts? I am also having a couple of small votive candles on each table with a lace edgeing too, to try bring all the vintage look together....like these:

and this is a pic of what i want my invitations to look like:(ish)

Hiya, you can upload your pics on your profile first of all so everyone can look at them. And I am having a vintage wedding too, but using bird cages for my centrepieces with a church candle inside and flowers round the outside. You could use old jam jars with lace wrapped around them filled with country flowers. Sounds lovely though what you are planning. When are you getting married? x

I think you are spot on with your centrepiece ideas, they are beautiful, are you using the similar colours here too (very similar to mine) awesome taste! :)
I like the mismatched idea, of glass bowl and vases...what about a vintagy cake stand with a few floral heads on placed nicely?
I love your invite ideas too which will match with your laced edge holders....i have collected some jars and put tea lights in and got some frosting from a crafty shop and created my own 'lace effect' by spraying over another piece of lace or stencil..its really effective.

Hi, thanks Karlie - i will try un restricting it now (wish me luck!!)

i didnt think about the lace around the jam jars Kevs Angel - brilliant idea!! I got 2 glass cake stands at a car boot yest (£1 each - bargain!!) so may do that with the flowers - its hard, cos i want to be able to try it all out beforehand but obv cant cos i need the flowers - grr! im not gettin married till next sept which is great as ive got plenty of time, but ideally i want to get the bitty things like stationary and decorations, out the way before xmas, so i can concentrate on the big decisions next year eek!!x
