i cant wait to go and view our reception venue today.
we are taking darrens mum with us on her lunch break, its such a beautiful place, my sil had her reception there also, and it was wonderful.
the reception cost there, including sit down meal, tables dec, wine with meal and evening buffet, wedding planner, and honeymoon suite for wedding night and room on our 1st anniversary is 4750!!!
why do they have to be so expensive, or does this sound normal??

hey hun how many guests are you having?ours is around 5000 with 60 day guests and 130 evening with honeymoon suite xx

we have 80 day guests, with 120 by evening, 3 course meal, evening buffet, drinks package, harpist at ceremony, centrepieces, balloons, toastmaster, long and low flowers, ceremony flowers, ceremony charge, dj, wedding coordinator and wedding night suite for £8500

That sounds like a good deal for what you are getting but depends on how many guests you are having. Everything I looked at in my area for 50 guests for day and 70 for night always came to nearly £6000 and that is waaaay too much, so doing it all ourselves now, which I am really looking forward to. The fact that you get a room for your 1st anniversary night too is pretty cool. Hope you have a great day! :)

yer i liked the fact we get to celebrate our 1st ann too.
we are allowed 50 daytime and 80 evening. but we have alot of children in the day so once most of the younger ones have gone home with there parents its gives us afew more spaces.
we also get table decs. its a cheap package deal but if you pay er head its way more expencive.
we were going to hire our local hall and do it ourself, but once we added everything up it wasnt a lot cheaper.
this is one of the nicest hotels in our town, i would have loved an old hotel/castle but i didnt want people to have to drive home as they not all be able to aford a room for the night.
