I'm really into the whole wedding planning and enjoying discussing ideas etc with OH/mum/friends but I kind of feel like ive done all I can NOW. I know I COULD book plenty of things now but OH keeps telling me to leave it as we have plenty of time. I know its probably a good thing as gives me more to do nearer the time but I have OCD when it comes to organisation lol.

So far ive booked venue, sorted wedding insurance, provisionally booked registrar, finally decided on colour scheme, ordered sample invites/dress swatches and bought centre pieces (which is a pain in itself as they are 30cm hurricane vases - 7 of them - which need to be safely stored for near on 2 years!) but they were a bargain compared to hiring so couldnt let them slip away. I'm now looking at entertainment; magicians, DJ's, bands. Ive gone completely bridezilla I realise but I think I need to stall myself a little.

My mum is taking me to the National Wedding Show in October to try on dresses, which is the one thing I am hoping to leave until pretty much last minute, as I'm hoping to lose some weight first, but what if Ifind 'the one'?! I'll be itching to buy lol. Has anyone ordered a dress in a size or two smaller in the hope of getting into it whe the time comes?

Hope everyone else is enjoying their planning as much as me, although I'm yet to have the dreaded 'dont want sister being bridesmaid' talk, oh and the fact I dont particuarly want her partner there either. Will go down well I'm sure!

I'm glad I'm not the only one lol! Ive told OH its perfectly normal and rational but he thinks I'm nuts!

Ive seen some dresses online I love the look of and will probably try on, but what looks good now might not so much if and when I loose weight. Plus every dress ive liked OH hasnt and vice versa.

We're getting married 17 July 2015. What about you?

We've done the big things so I'm now kicking my heels and getting impatient for time to pass, as we can't do much now until after Christmas. With the dress it doesn't do any harm to buy for your current size rather than the size you hope to be, as it's reasonably easy for a dress to be taken in, but harder to make it bigger if you buy smaller and then don't make your target weight loss. Bear in mind that loss in weight doesn't always result in as much loss in size as you might expect, as some fat loss in internal.

I feel the same hun, i've now booked my venue, registra and got wedding insurance, have looked at some dresses, know my theme a colours, but i feel the same as you, im currently searching for a band, bm dresses, hen night ideas, etc, i personally would not a get a dress smaller, but get it the right size for you now if you were to get one, then if you loose weight you can take it seamstress and have it taken in.

I've booked the church, paid deposit on the venue, cars, venue decorations, chose colour schemes and had menu tasting, sent out save the date cards and the invites are being printed as I type x suits are ordered and all males measured just need to try on nearer the time
Hen do is in the planning stage with the MOH and other BMs also stag do is booked for day of go carting and quad biking all a month before the big day
Flowers and button holes have been chosen and paid for
I only really have the dresses and table plan to sort out
I want to get it all sorted then can relax a bit and just pay for the rest of it
It's been quite easy really all falling into place which is great x can't wait for the big day to come now x

From experience being organised and doing things in advance is the best thing you can do. As the weeks became days I was thankful for doing so much in advance, all I had to worry about were the things I really could not do, like delivering the stationary to the venue, giving away the rings, etc.

If you want to plan the wedding, even if it seems well in advance then DO IT! You'll be thankful for it later.

i think your doing the right thing - dont leave everything till last minute as suppliers could be booked up. in my experience the more organised you are the less stressed you will be nearer the time. i had all of mine booked within a month of getting engaged. theres still plenty of things to do nearer the time but i made sure i got my suppliers booked and deposits paid straight away x

When I can actually start putting deposits down and paying for my venue registrars etc I will asap I'm a 2016 Bride and have plenty of time to wait till my wedding but I believe the more organized I am and pay a bit of at a time the better I will be in the long run It's normal for brides to be's to get excited and go wedding planning mad and sort things out asap Men don't understand why we do this but When it comes to crunch time and your all stressed and you cannot get what you want or need as you left it too long then you will wish you pre done everything before hand =D <3 X
