Hi all, We haven't got the budget for a videographer to come and do the wedding, but have several ***60pr0's and video camera in the family, and thought about handing these out to people and getting them to film bits of the day, then putting together a video ourselves afterwards. Possibly also, I've seen websites/apps where you can get your guests to upload photos/videos that they've taken on the day, and we could use those too. I just wondered if anyone else had done this and if they could recommend any other ideas or tips of things to do/remember?

We used W3dpics for people to upload photos. I'm not sure if they do videos too but might be worth a look. It was nice for people to be able to see other photos from the day x

My friends used W3dp1c5 for all their guests to put their photos on. You do get lots of the same pics, but from different angles, and you also tend to get a lot of pics of your guests, so you can see them all enjoying your day.
I think we shall be using them for our guests to upload their photos. We are also having a photographer for the official pics.
We would like a video, but really cant stretch to it, so we are considering contacting the local college/university to see if there are any Media students who would like to do it as part of their studies. Should be much cheaper, they get the experience and we get a video. It may not be as good as a professional videographer, but at least we would have a video of sorts.

We've set up an account with w3dp!cs too. I'm not sure about video on there either, but haven't even thought to look (will do that tomorrow!) I'm toying with the idea of a friend recording the day too due to lack of budget, but our church charge a license fee for videography, so not definite yet. There I a company who hire out video cameras, the guests use them and then the company put a video together for you. Can't remember what they're called, but if you g00gl3 it I'm sure you could get ideas from there on how to go about using your own cameras for that purpose! X
