I'm looking for a cheap videographer for my wedding in June.
A friend I went to college with was going to do it and I was under the impression that he was doing it for nothing but the experience as him and his friend haven't graduated uni yet and have never done a wedding before.
Well he's now dropped the bomb that him and his friend will want paying company prices?!
I'm not willing to take the risk of paying someone to film my wedding, and not knowing it will come out right. I was willing to risk it for nothing as my H2B's sister was going to just set her camera up as a backup, but I can't afford to be paying some uni kids massive £'s when they've never even done a wedding before.
Its very different to what they're used to, they're used to filming short films etc where they have time to do shots over and again if they miss something etc, whereas a wedding is a one take thing!
So does anyone know anywhere in Yorkshire? xx

i think its very cheeky that they want full price when they have no experience can you not try to negotiate with them i know hails has got a great deal for her vidiographer at £99 it was a deal which was on at the time but i don't know the link will bump her wedding thread and you can ask her about it yourself xx

The guy who was offering the £99 deal does a gold package for about £400, look on fb **********************

i have booked though******************* also did a cracking 99 deal and thought why not considering when i looked around it was all about 750 upwards.

I found a guy on here charging £450 for whole day- don't know what he'll be like and he's in London but prob worth a few searches and haggling a bit! x

See if you can get someone starting out- may get them cheap. Or how about one of those 'film it yourself' companies, or even a friend with a decent camcorder? x

How about going to a college/uni near by? The students in their last year might be able to help you out or something? That way you know they're nearly pro and you can hopefully get it alot cheaper xx

To everyone that's looking for the £99 deal for the videographer he's just emailed me to say he's fully booked through to next year and he only has the offers on every other month. I was really excited about it and looking forward to having it recorded but can't afford the prices top people charge. I agree with Kirstyless, try asking around the colleges for trainee's looking to get a head start, that's how I found our photographer and she's only charging £250, her uni portfolio is amazing as well x x

he's got a post on face book about 2hrs ago for £300 for the gold package if you book today, and according to his website they can book upto 3 films per day so even if they have 1 or 2 in they should still be able to do it, they also have a check you date page and the 8th june looks empty to me!

i wouldnt trust people i college to do it, i did the course at my local college and wouldnt have wanted to do someones wedding, the course is so unorganized and we didnt learn anything.
we cant afford anything for it, which is why it was a bummer, but hes now said that hes going to tell them that its a favour for me, and that it was arranged before they set the business up :) xx

The company on facebook which has already been mentioned (the £99 deal guy) are doing a Sunday offer today. That gold package you looked at which was £850 is now £300 if that helps? :) Xx
