    Hey everyone,

Id love to have a professional videographer but we just cant fit one into the budget.. has anyone ever filmed the wedding themselves and then edited it at home? Im thinking if we buy some editing software myself and h2b should be able to manage it? If youve tried it, how did it turn out and do you have any advice? We have 7 bridesmaids and 9 groomsmen so im thinking they could take it in turns filming so they can still enjoy the day?

I just wish the professionals werent so expensive!!!

My uncle and cousin videoed our wedding and my dad edited it so we had a wedding video. My sister and BIL had the same.

Best way to get a wedding video without the cost, however it's a risk as they could miss things or experience technical problems unless they're prepared.

tbh i would ask one or twp people to do it rather than have it passed from person to person .

have you thought about approaching a local college or photographic club ?

Sorry, to clarify, they had a video camera each so got different shots and angles between the two of them xx

I think it is a good idea. We are lucky our photographer brings along his dad who will film for us. We have however bought new camcorder and digital camera that does video and waterproof for honeymoon - both came with pretty good editing software so I dont see why it wouldnt be possible.

Ooh id not even thought of asking a college! Thats a good idea.
I was thinking that if people have a list or are told on the morning what they need to film then the important bits shouldnt be missed? Im gonna get h2b to look into editing software to see if he thinks wed be able to.make it look ok.. but you know wgat guys are like- they take forever to do something! X

Are there a couple of guests who aren't doing anything else who might be able to do it? I would be wary that bridesmaids and ushers might already have enough to do.

30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.
