This is my first post since I got engaged at Xmas in Rome!!!! :)
Just wondered if anyone has any suggestions for venues in/around Cheltenham, Gloucestershire? I like the idea of Ellenborough Park but they want 11 rooms booking too and with the cheapest being £240 per night I can't expect our guests to pay that much and if we paid for them it would add £3.5k to our budget.......which is too much :(

Oh I made h2b drive up there yesterday after seeing a photo of it - it looks so pretty!! I've emailed asking for info so will hopefully be able to work out costs......its def on my list and from looking on the internet I don't think anywhere else will have that wow factor driving up the path :)
I'm from up north so will guests coming down and staying in a hotel - would have to research other hotels nearby rather than in cheltenham so if ppl wanted cheaper rates they'd have options.........h2b says that's they problem lol but I'd like to know there was options available. xx

we are getting married in the Frogmill, which is just outside Cheltenham. We love it - its so quaint and Carol and the team are lovely and really family freindly which is great as I have many family members with children!!

Oh yes we saw that yesterday.....i made of list of places and we went on a drive around the county lol.
The frogmill does look lovely, esp the view from the car park as you look towards the building - it is on our shortlist as h2b really liked it! Its so hard to find somewhere that ticks all the boxes!! :)

We finally booked & paid deposit yesterday there and so far they have not said no to anything!! There isnt an exclusive hire charge use either, which so many of the venues charge. Plus the price per head includes flowers for the tables, half a bottle of wine pp, chair covers and sashes in your choice.

That does sound reasonable and I love the exculsive use type aspect! Do guests just pay for a room for the night then? Or are they included in the price??
There is a wedding show there on 12th Feb........going to try and change plans so we can go have a look around!!! :D

There is no exclusive use as you can't get it. However - if you go you will see that the wedding room is self contained and they only have 30 bedrooms - we are booking them all out! People pay for the rooms but they are not to expensive!
I would go on the 12th if you can - really shows it in a good light and Carol will be there who can give you loads of info :D

Steffie - i have sent you a friend request :) if you don't mind, i was going to ask to pick your brians about prices and stuff for Dumbleton Hall as we have looked at a few venues now and OH says that is still his fave.
We got a quote from the hotel for the numbers we have and was just wondering if it was worth asking for a discount? Do you have ideas if the can reduce prices or include anything.....feel a bit cheeky asking the venue when they have already said how much it would be but a lot of posts on here are all "if you dont ask you dont know! and that many venues expect you to ask for a discount!! and i remembered my first post on here and your reponse saying you have booked Dumbleton Hall.
