It can be a bit daunting looking at venues, Hun.
If you email, most will have a brochure that they can send to you. I'm quite surprised more don't have a website - that's just silly!
Also check out the councils web page for places licensed for a civil ceromony (if you are planning to have a civil ceromony)
Do you know what you type of thing you want?

I personally hate these budget hotels that are offering weddings, no offense to anyone, i just think theyre impersonal and though they arent cheap they feel it. we wanted disington hall, but cant afford it. so we were looking about and came up with what for us is the perfect comprimise, south shields town hall! A lovely historic traditional building which is stunning inside, WITHOUTH the massive cost! ceremony only, room hire is around the £125 mark i believe (if i can remember rightly lol)
are there any town halls near you? Some ARENT as nice i realise, but maybe that could be an idea? museams sometimes cater for weddings too, personally too far out there for me lol...village halls, masonic halls (theyre gorgeous ones in gateshead) they all might ofer you another option... beamish cater for weddings too, and my avourite but sadly also not in my range - Edinburgh zoo! theyre gardens are stunning.
Remember : To the world you may be just one person,
BUT to one person you may just be THE WORLD x x x
