We are planning on getting married in 2012 and have been researching Essex and Hertfordshire venues - do you know anyone who got married at Parklands, Quendon Hall near Bishop's Stortford? Or can anyone recommend somewhere in either of those areas?
Thanks :o)

hi ... i looked at parklands for ours , it is lovely , the only thing that put me off was they have not got many rooms but apart from that it is beautiful. We decided on fanham hall in ware .. have a look at their website.

Hi Tinsel - its on 1st May. It looks lovely from their website and of course I was nosey and checked out their prices and I thought they were pretty reasonable, about £5 a head more than mine, but you have to consider that they are closer to london, I'm now out in the sticks in hampshire! lol
But I will let you know after, you may have to remind me though! lol

I liked Hylands when I went, but there's no on-site accommodation. It was pretty though :o)

Hi Tinsel. Just to let you know Parklands came 2nd in the wedding venue of the year awards so it must be doing something right! Have you looked at Leez Priory as well? Thats where we're getting married, they do great weekday deals x

Hi G.I.
We went to Parklands back in February when it was all snowy (beautiful) but our requirements came out at £12,900! My whole wedding budget is £12,000!
We looked at Leez Priory, but again it is nearly £10,000 for what we want.
Karlie, I'll take a look now :o)

HI Tinsel I currently live in Chelmsford (Essex) but used to live in Hemel Hempstead and Watford (Herts)
SIL2B got married in Newland Hall near Chelmsford which was lovely but no overnight accommodation and cousin2B got married Vaulty Manor near Maldon and that was gorgeous and some accommodation.
As for Herts have you looked at Shendish Manor near Apsley - only attended as a evening guest but it was very glamorous location. Likewise Sopwell House in St Albans but I personally didnt enjoy that particular function but dont let it put you off. My fav on Herts has to be Hatfield House which was divine and glorious weather helped.

Its a little further but Im getting married at South Farm. Its beautiful and very personal as you'll be the only bride on the day. I also looked at Tewin Bury Farm which was nice, but up to three brides on the same day. Also, South Farm isnt too expensive. We're doing ours for £8000.

Thanks Rebecca, I'll have a look :o)
