    Hi,

I'm new on here and I would really like some help/inspiration on a venue.
We live in Birmingham and would like somewhere around here but we're not sure where. We'd like everything in one place (ceremony, reception, nice grounds for pictures, accomodation for guests) and we were thinking about 30-40 day guests and maybe 70-80 for the evening.
The big issue is the budget... We went through the numbers and I think we have about £2,000-£3,000 for the venue, food and drinks. We've been to see one venue and the quote was double this. Are we fighting a losing battle trying to find something that ticks all of the boxes or do any brides out there have any suggestions?

    Thanks

    Hi Katie,

the registry office in Brum is really modern inside and is only a short walk to places like the Burlington Hotel or somewhere quirky like the ikon gallery or the bank cocktail bar. If you wanted something country chic i thought Ansty Hall in Cov looks great for a wedding =)

My better half spends a lot of time in the city centre for work so I don't think that would feel special enough, but thank you for the ideas. I will definitely Google Ansty Hall though this evening :)

My venue is the forest of arden, its grounds are amazing and you can have ceremony and reception there. When we booked they offered us wedding packages, the one we picked was for more guests than you are after but they did a smaller one as well. Civil ceremony suite, 4 course wedding breakfast for 50 guests and drinks and evening supper for 80 plus loads of other stuff. This was priced at 3,500 then so not too far off your budget. Hope this helps.

The forest in Dorridge is also nice, no grounds but the people are very welcoming and attentive. This was the other venue we were looking at but Forest of arden won because of the amazing grounds.

    Hope this helps xx

I did look at The Forest in Dorridge online last week and thought it looked lovely but I was put off when I realised there was no outside space. I'll take a look at the other one you suggested though, thanks.

There are plenty of beautiful venues in and around birmingham, all different price ranges so just keep looking! we are getting married at the Belfry in Sutton, its higher up the price range but we did visit quite a few...
and from off top of my head, not sure on prices/budgets etc,

Coombe Abbey, Berrow Court Hotel, Highbury Hall, Fairlawns, Botanical Gardens, Lea Marston etc.
Then theres the Hiltons, Hyatts, Ramadas etc xx
