    Hi,

I'm looking for a venue preferably for May 2012 in the North West of England hopefully within 25miles of Warrington. We would like an outdoor ceremony and we would like the ceremony and reception in the same place. The venue needs to provide accommodation as well as half the wedding guests will be flying in from France.

If you are a venue representative or a bride who knows of a venue that fits my description please reply to this thread!

    Thank you for your time,

    Miss2Madame

I don't know if they've changed the rules, but I am fairly sure that the location has to be licensed as well as the person conducting the ceremony, and the location has to be somewhere enclosed (can't remember the legal wording exactly), so when a venue says you can get married there, it's usually a specific room they have the license for...... So I dunno if you can get married outdoors - you might need to check it out.....

Usually if you contact the council, or go to their website, you can find a list of all the licensed venues. I know Cheshire West has a PDF you can download of their marriage/partnership brochure which lists everywhere.....

De Vere hotel, Blackpool. They have a licensed clocktower outdoor wedding venue and reception rooms inside. I know the clocktower ceremony is £700 (not sure if that's including registrar fees) and it's a small package of things for that amount... not sure how much the reception packages are...but it's the De Vere so be prepared for it to be a lot!

Although currently wedding ceremonies are not allowed to take place outdoors in temporary or moveable structures such as marquees or boats, certain venues do have permanent constructions outdoors i.e. pergolas, gazebos etc. which are licensed.

you were correct faeth about ceremonies out doors..they have to be in permanent structures apparently.

    Hi,

Thanks for all your suggestions keep them coming! I will check these ones out tonight :) As for getting married outside I've checked all the legalities of it and a venue will only say they can do outside marriages if they have a licensed structure such as a gazebo like ricky said :)

Thanks everyone and good luck with your own weddings particularly you rick 3 days wow!

i dont know about outside but crewe hall is amazing in terms of its interior and they have nice large grounds. Minimum price for that time of year will be around 5500 plus and then reg fees on top.
