    Was supposedly going to sign the booking form today for our venue. By chance I asked them to add an additional item to the evening buffet to be told that it is now a set menu!! This has never been discussed and out of the new menu I like 2 items!! I am furious as to me food is a big part of the event and this change makes me want to move venue. I have emailed to ask if there is any flexibility but am I being unfair?

    i really don't want to search for a new venue :-(

    If you're paying enough money for something, you should be able to have exactly what you want!

    You're not being unfair, if anything, they are being unfair. Surely they have to have some flexibility x

    It is more the fact that this has changed and we weren't informed. I am awaiting my email and hoping they compromise a little.

    When we booked it was the older packages but when the new ones were released in jan this year we were informed that we could go between the two (we have the biggest package) at no extra cost. If you have agreed to something they should honour that.

    We haven't signed anything which is going to be the issue however they wouldn't have mentioned it if I hadn't wanted to add an item to the old version. The version we want is actually £1pp more.

    Oh no!! I'd definitely push back on this and see if they can maybe meet you half way as you booked based on what you were told would be offered xxx

    I wouldn't say you're being unfair, if you're going on the information provided to you prior to confirming the venue then hopefully they should allow some flexibility as they hadn't given you notice of things changing

    ugh that is so annoying! they should have told you they were thinking of changing the menu when you made your inquiry rather than saying oooooh look at all this lovely food you can't have! i really hope they at least compromise with you and meet you half way...keep us posted :)

    They should do what agreed to, you booked in part due to the menu selection and for them to change it and then refuse to keep there word and to try an get away with it by changing without letting you know.
    Our venue is so flexible, we can have whatever we want.

    Still waiting for a response but I will keep you updated. It has really upset me as I thought we had found the perfect option. Also doesn't help that due to a medical issue I can be restricted on what food I can eat. Oh well fingers crossed I get a response today!

    Just had an email from the venue. They have a new chef that started around the time that we viewed and he is changing all the menus. The wedding planner at the venue has asked us what we would like and hopefully we can get what we want. I am going to try and compromise with the new menu and just swap a few items out. They are also changing the hot fork buffet menu which we are having instead of a wedding breakfast.
