Can you advise me on prices for the following?
I have just had a quote from someone and I think it is far too expensive

49 Chair covers (white with purple sashes) - £208.25
9 charger plates for top table - £18.00
5 martini vase centrepieces Approx. cost! (inc. mirrors and table scatters) - £175.00
1 long and low arrangement for registrars. And then top table. Approx. cost from £50.00 – will vary as to content of display (silk)
Ceremony, top and cake tables swagged. - £95.00
Swags to bar area - £145.00

I find this all very expensive and not quite sure I should go for it.
    What do you think?
    Thanks
    J xxx

WOW! £4.20 a chair, I think that's very very expensive personally. Most prices i've seen is between £2-£3.50. I paid £1.65 per chair cover and sash (winter deal tho)

I would shop around and get some comparative quotes xx

I agree with Elliekitty about the chair covers, we were lucky with ours as they are included in the package we got. x

i have had a look online and found another company
    they will do

50 Chair Covers in either White or Ivory, complete with Organza or Voile sash in your choice of colour.
5 Table Centrepieces from our comprehensive range, complete with mirror bases.
Top Table and Cake Table swags to match your seat covers.
Confetti, Rose Petals or Diamante on all tables.

I think your original price is really expensive, chair covers are normally between £2.50 and £3.50. I also think your martini glasses are alot too, we were hiring them for about £15 per glass then £2 for the glass so yours is well over priced.

Do some shopping around and get some other quotes. xxx

This is all included in my venue price, plus if there's things I want that they don't have, they'll get it at no extra cost to us... So that's a bonus... Yours does seem excessive, you'd think you'd get a discount if its somewhere ur venue suggested u go to?

well thats what i expected to get tbh Kelly.
I dont mind doing it as an extra cost but there is a limit. I have found somewhere that does £2.75 per chair cover which is sooo much better :)
    im looking at about £325.
does anyone know where i can buy/hire purple charger plates for £1 each or less?

Wow that is expensive, we are only paying £250 for our chair covers and we have got 80 chair covers and 9 table runners.

we are also only paying £108 for 9 martini glasses, the bay of E has loads of bits for the tables for £ which isnt a lot of money.

What are you having for your registar table as ours cost us £45 and we have got cream roses and a mixture of flowers and foliage that we have got in our centre pieces.

Remember you dont have to use what your venue has said. The lady our venue said to use would of been double our quote.

im not using what my venue use thats just what i want

    what i want is:
    49 chair covers and sashes
5 centrepieces (tall w mirror plate and sprinkles)
    49 charger plates
    backdrop of some kind
swags and bows on top table, cake table and ceremony table
swags and bows on the bar area (as it looks gorgeous. suppose i can do without if it becomes too much)
long and low for top table and ceremony table (silk)

im estimating paying about £500 for all of the above

do you think this is too much? or too little? am i being unrealistic?

WOAH your chair covers are sashes are very very expensive! Were paying £120 for 80 covers & sashes and £25 for swagging on the top table & cake table!

We have gone and found our own decorators though! this does sound rather pricey! Id shop around see if you can get a better price first x

We had 50 chair covers and sashes with delivery, fit and removal for £95.

We made our own centre pieces at a cost of about £30, bought the table confetti for about £1 a bag, card games for 10p each (they were going obselete in t*scos) and bubbles for 25p each.

Sounds like a lot. Are you having flowers in your centrepeices? I only ask as our florist is sorting the hire of vases/candlesticks for us, included in the flower quote.im having 80 chair covers/ sashes and have just got 50 p off per cover for booking this month. So I'm paying £200 for the 80.

will pop a link on for where I'm using for my stuff I'm doing martini vase with flowers in will all be silk though because of my allergies but think they look just as good. the cheaper charger plates are only 79p each you could but some crystals around the outside rim to bling them up if you wanted them to look more expensive and it would cost much x

how many are you needing cos if you wanted to buy mine off me after i have finished with them your more then welcome would only need to get the bits for inside.

I'm having 5 at 60cm tall and 2 smaller ones to go on my top table which are about 26cm tall and look like this

also will have mirror plates 30cm

    Crikey, that's a rip off!

I'm always a bit wary of people the venues recommend....at our venue they have a recommended florist, photographer, harpist, violinist and decorators....they always seem to be at the top end of the usual prices...makes you wonder if there's not some sort of commission deal going on..
