some of you may remember that our original venue cancelled with 6 months to go.
I managed to get an alternate venue - same day same time but it was £1.400 more than the original. I got £600 off of that price, which was good but I tried for compensation from the original venue (didn't have wedding insurance). I then learned that they are not doing venues at all.
Well, still waiting for the original cheque... they say they posted it two weeks ago (hmmm), and will remind them again to send it toute suite tomorrow BUT had a recorded letter this morning from the company that owned the venue - they've offered, without prejudice, £750 compensation (on top of the deposit of course).. that means, the 2nd venue cost a grand total of £50 more :) :) :).. yeay..
