I am hoping it all works out. We still have 14 months before then so hopefully any building work will be done. A positive to that means our venue could become an exclusive wedding venue as we were told when we booked they may have another wedding in the marquee (which isnt a marquee but a building with a fabric roof lol). so not all negatives. Main concern is if they decide to sell, as I know majority of their income came from the huge Asian weddings which were held in the marquee. Maybe they will use a proper marquee afterwards though. Who knows!! Will just have to wait and see the outcome at end of Jan xxx

sorry to hear this. i would definitely make sure you get your wedding insurance. mine covers any deposits etc already paid as long as whats paid wasnt over £1000 i think. but most importantly it will cover all your other suppliers too. so if something goes wrong with venue and you have to rearrange you are covered to rearrange everything else too. finger crossed that everything goes ok for you and yes you are right not to pay any more money until this is sorted out x

I just bought wedding insurance - and deposits paid on things are covered I checked as we have put deposits on a few things- it wasn't expensive either £57 so everything we needed so you could look into it, at least a little stress off of your mind :)

I will look into wedding insurance tonight. One thing his has made me think about is we never got a receipt for the money we paid to the venue. It was done by bank transfer and once I had done it didn't think anything of it. How would I get a receipt now? Or would fact it was bank transferred be enough? Feel so daft its not like me at all normally I am very cautious and keep a receipt for everything.!! Xxx

All they told me on the phone when I asked is that we'd have to prove the money we'd paid - so bank transfer maybe enough. But I would ring the venue and explain that upon checking your paperwork you've realised they didn't send you a receipt, and you would like one. We've just got another one from our photographer. It's the only thing oh has done so far and he's lost it - typical haha. But it's easily forgotten when you're excited x

Ok thanks Stephanie. Can you post the name of your wedding insurance company on my wall please. I haven't a clue where to start all the reviews I found on line are from people who didn't claim on it so not really helping me make a decision on who to go with. Xxx
