So I just bought a cathedral/chapel/floor/long a.s.s veil off ebay (pic in albums) and realised it doesn't have a comb on it. This isn't a problem cause normal veil combs are too wide for my hair and don't stay in very well anyway, Plus I can probably trim the veil down to a length I want it (was only £5 lol) and then attach it to something that'll stay in my hair better!

Question is, what would be the best thing to attach it to? Ideally I want to wear the veil at the back of my head not on top of it. So whatever I attach it to should be hidden under my hair. Maybe a comb that was not plastic with the prongs closer together would stay in, but it might be heavy so maybe a crocodile clip or two?

Any ideas? I'm a bit clueless when it comes to hair lol. Can't afford a hair stylist or anything so ideally needs to be something I can do myself.

    Links would be awesome. Thanks!

Are you having your hair up? In which case, could you attach it to a small bobble? I'm not too good at hair either!!

Worth a shot if I run out of options lol. Been looking for a metal comb for ages now and can't find one that doesn't cost loads in postage, gah.

It came today, looks pretty true to picture. Doesn't seem to be made out of great tulle, it's not super soft and silky but it's okay. though I didn't realise the embellishments on it were pearls and they've been glued on with a glue gun... FAIL.

In the pain staking process of melting them all off with the iron. Seems to be working okay so far.

Can't complain too much for a fiver.

Gonna see what I can do with it before I decide if I want to use it or buy a more expensive one.

My veil had a comb and stayed put in my hair all day as my hair was backcombed. You could also pin the comb to your hair maybe, or even use hair pins to secure the veil without a comb? Best thing would be to book a hair trial and ask the hair dresser how to secure it to your hair for the day (even if you end up doing it yourself and not booking the hairdresser) :-)

I got a metal hair comb (two actually) from land of pound. They have some beading between the two which is supposed to show, but its on threads wound round the combs so should be easy to take off to use the combs alone.

Took hours but all the gluey gunned pearls are off now, put it in the washing machine on a hand wash to attempt to get off the glue residue I couldn't get off fully with the iron. It's okay if it doesn't all come off though cause I'll just stick lego flowers over it. Gonna cut it to length and gather it and sew it next. Luckily I know how to do this! :)
