i really don't know what to do about my veil... im getting married in a church, and i do have a 2 tier veil.

i just think i'll feel silly, but then i look at pictures of the bride saying her vows with her face covered and the 'reveal' etc and it looks so lovely :)

my mum wants me to have my face covered too, and will help me at the alter to make it lay right etc.

what is everyones opinion of this?

do you have a 2 tier veil?

will you be walking down the aisle with your face covered?

if you are, will you be taking the veil off at the start of the ceremony or just before he kisses you?

    xx

Im wearing my veil over my face and taking it off of the face at the start of the ceremony
I think its less common to wear it over the face these days but i like it

There are so many people out there who will tell you
    what you can't do.
What you have to do is turn around and say, "watch me"!!

I am having a 1 tier floor length veil (think its only 1 tier, thinking about it). If I did have it over my face I would end up tripping or something lol. Think its more traditional in church but its up you what you want.

Are you even allowed to keep it on during vows? I'm sure I saw somewhere that you can't? Might be wrong though!

It's up to you, practise and go with what is most comfortable - I kept mine off as I hate anything in my face.

I think I might take it off before I say the vows. I think you can keep it on through the vows? my cousin in Australia got married last week and she had her face covered right through the ceremony until they kissed. Unless its different rules here to there?

I just want to be able to see 100% haha, but it might help my nerves walking down the aisle but still dont know haha! Will decide at the church i reckon!

it is customary to keep it on throughout the ceremony, then when the priest/vicar says......you may now kiss the bride, thats when the groom lifts it.
I didnt when I got married, I had my face covered until I reached the alter, then my dad lifted it for me.

Lol, Its completely up to you, but you could ask the priest/vicar which is the most common way to do it. Also ask H2B if he is happy to lift it back, as I would trust mine not to pull it out or something (he's very clumsy).

I had a 1 tier from online and it didn't have much to it sort of thing, so either way I'm sticking with my 2 tier (getting married a week on friday and already have it). think i will walk down the aisle with my face covered then get my mum to take it off, shes the only one i trust wouldnt make a pigs ear of it haha. my tiara is quite spikey sort of thing, or at least would snag the veil.

I bought a 2 tier veil and totally forgot to put it on! lol, but it doesnt matter, we were able to look into each others eyes when saying our vows and that was amazing, the love i saw in his eyes at that moment will top no other. xx

I've been thinking the same thing. But I've decided that I will have it covering my face while walking down the aisle, then when I meet my H2B at the alter he is going to take it back from my face before the vicar starts. Hope that made sense.

I have a two tier veil but as im having a civil ceremony i think it will look a bit much if i cover my face. Plus it will probably get caught on my tiara! I do love the tradition of being unveiled by the groom though xx

I think I will be having the blusher (is that whats its called?) covering my face and then my Dad (will practice) lifting it when we reach the top of the aisle :-) x
