    I cant decide....

i REALLY Wanted a veil at my irst wedding, but was talked out of it by HIS bloody family saying it was only a registry office and why was i wearing a wedding dress for a registry office, i shoulda just got a dess or skirt suit....

NOw, i dont know whats going to go with my dress,... and if i have a veil it wont be over my face, just worts worn at the back of my head...
ok, i know i have plenty of time to sort this, but well I am impatient and i HAVE to ahve all these details sorted out in my head asap

IF i get one do i go for a short one... or the one i really want which is longer than my dress/

i just cant decide if one will go with my dress, as it isnt a wedding dress, it is a cocktail dress, so quite informal as a wedding dress, and plain.

and I dont want to buy a veil and THEN find it doesnt go.

arg there are so many decisions to make when planning a wedding lol

Just go for a veil that looks complimentary to the dress and have a tiara too. I am having both. A cathedral length veil and a large tiara in profile. As long as you make sure it all fits then go for both if you can. It helps support the veil more effectively and any up do's you may hav e if you have a tiara too

I'm having a bolero and my dress shop suggested a veil and a tiara and a bolero is too much (talking themselves out of a sale!). I've looked online and I agree that you can have too much. I would say if you are having a bolero and gloves, perhaps only have a tiara or a veil. That's my opinion.

I'd say go for the veil for the ceremony, especially as you wanted one last time... you could then take the veil off for the reception and put a tiara on if you wanted xxx

Im having a veil and tiara with my veil worn at the back so not over my face. Its gonna be a long one too about the same length as my dress. Go with what you want!! No-one else is planning your day for you :) If it will make you feel more comfortable then go for the veil with bolero and gloves. The last thing you need is to be feeling self conscious about your body image, especially if it will have recently changed then xx

it's just the fact of me needing long sleeves on a bolero or a bolero and gloves, then sticking a tiara and veil on, on top of it all, is jsut going to too much together i think.
I might just get a sparkly headband and no veil

Janie why don't you have lacey sleeves sewn on to your dress - less bulky than a bolero, equally slimming (probably more so) and a veil wouldn't overload so much.

Not def decided yet but i want to have a side headband that is quite sparkly and a long veil not over my face.

If you can then try it all on with the dress to see. I was determined i didn't want a veil having tried a elbow length one but when i tried the cathedral length veil with my dress and the side headband i fell in love! Will go back and look again to make sure as it is a lot of money!

I would say if you are definitely having a bolero, then have one or the other. I have googled any cannot find any brides wearing gloves and bolero and veil and tiara. This is the closest I could get...

I think it is too much (just looking at the sleeves and the veil and that HUGE headdress thing!) but have what you want. You can always try them all on and see how you feel. I'd be too hot with it all on!

I agree with LMB - either sew on long sleeves or find a lace bolero, there are some really nice ones around :) (will try find a pic)
I think having a short sleeved bolero and then long gloves would look a bit odd...

Looking @ your dress pic I'd say a full length veil like you wanted will go really well with your dress! :)

But personally if I were having full length sleeves/bolero and a full veil I wouldn't have a tiara too. If you want some bling you can get veils with diamantes scattered on? Or maybe a simple diamante headband? Xx

I NEED gloves though, as i have a few tattoo's on my lower arms and being my wedding i would rather cover the up.

Do you think lace sleeves would go with the dress?

Janie, take your dress into some bridal shops and try it all on together, including bolero and gloves. Ask the assistants or any other brides in the store if they think it works or looks too much! I did this as I've got a bolero with my dress and wondered if it was too OTT. I was convinced that it wasn't as long as the veil didn't go over my face.

Wear whatever you feel most beautiful in. It's your day ;) xx

I am thinking adding sleeves is going to change the dress too much, so i am thinking lacey bolero, but then will satin gloves look odd?
It's one decision after another lol, i decide one thing and it just leads to another choice to make

The celine dion pic cracked me up.

Kate Middleton had sleeves, a tiara and a veil. Or look at dresses from the 40s to the 70s - they all have sleeves and veils. In the 80s and 90s the dresses started to overload on ruffles, poufy sleeves and sequins and then it started to look totally ott. So my conclusion - as long as you keep it sleek and not too fussy you can have it all!

i didnt mean I WANTED a short one and gloves, just that i either need that OR a long sleeved one...i like the first and fourth in those pics above.
The veil would be long but fairly simple, not ruffly or poofy, just flat and sleek .

If i have to choose veil or tiara i think i would go veil.....

so long sleeved lace bolero, and simple veil sounds the one to try first.

I want to cover my tattoo's up because I dont like them on show on such special oocasions, just something i personally feel looks nicer.

Im having long sleeves, a veil and a tiara, no gloves though.

Definately depends on the dress, my dress is simple with just some simple pearls around the neckline and waist and the sleeves will be chiffon as the skirt has a chiffon overlay (cant see it in the pic)
With sleeves im wearing veil at the back coz it looked too much around the shouldres and distracted from the dress but definately didnt wat to part with a veil :)

Would defo say try as many options out as possible to see what looks best xx
